the group made their way onto the subway platform, the sound of trains echoed around them. carter walked behind tara, with elena beside him.

"is this even a good plan?" carter asked aloud, his voice a bit quieter than he realized.

"you don't have to come if you don't want to." tara stated, rolling her eyes slightly.

"so, we just peel off and the killer just takes us out one by one? no, thank you." carter sighed.

tara grasped elena's hand, not wanting to get lost in the crowd.

"come on, let's get to the theater." sam spoke up, guiding the group as they pushed their way through the crowd of people in the direction of the train.

chad pushed through the crowd, yelling, "come on, this one's leaving!"

carter was stuck behind people getting off the train, looking around to find elena.

mindy yelled out to chad, "chad! chad!" she pushed through the crowd, trying to make her way over to him.

the train doors began to close, and chad reached his hand out the door in attempt to pull mindy in.

"fuck!" she cursed loudly, banging her fist on the door in frustration.

in the other train, the flickering lights caught elena's attention and her eyes quickly scanned the surroundings. she noticed several people in ghost face costumes, her heart rate quickening as she took in her environment.

tara walked over to the map, asking, "how many more stops do we have?"

sam checked the map before answering, "ten."

elena's sense of anxiety grew as she worried about where carter was and her concern was evident as she glanced around the train nervously.

tara noticed her worry and asked, "you okay?" to which elena cried but then sam spoke up, announcing, "our next stop's coming up."

meanwhile, carter was with mindy, looking, until he spoke up, "mindy—" he finally reached her, touching her shoulder. she was startled, spinning around and giving him such a look.

"get your ghostface ass away from me, ghostface." mindy snapped, readjusting her bag on her shoulder before increasing the space between them.

in response to mindy's comment, he gave her a confused look.

mindy raised her arms, shouting, "go away!"

carter let out an eye roll, frustrated with her attitude. mindy was obviously pissed with him.

mindy looked at him, her voice filled with panic as she questioned, "what?" he looked at her, still confused and annoyed by her behavior.

the second train had come to a stop, and mindy sat down in a seat, avoiding eye contact with carter. he joined her on the train, sitting nearby but respecting her space. he let out a sigh, knowing that mindy wanted some space from him. he gave her the distance she wanted by standing a few feet away.

the train left the station, filled with people in various ghostface costumes. carter kept glancing between mindy and the floor, noticing her trying to get signal on her phone.

the lights flickered on and off continuously, his grip on the handle getting tighter when suddenly carter spotted something.

"oh, shit... shit." carter cursed, removing his hand from the handle. "mindy! fuck! shit!" he exclaimed, running towards her. "mindy! fuck." he finally got to her, dropping to the ground next to her. "that's a lot of blood." panic was evident in his voice.

mindy was in obvious pain, clutching her stomach with one hand. carter looked around the train, calling out desperately, "help! someone, help!" he knew he had to get her out of there. "we're gonna get you out of here, okay?" he reassured her as he placed her arm around his shoulder, supporting her weight and practically carrying her as she grunted in pain. "come on.." carter muttered. he shouted out, "somebody call 911!" as he helped mindy towards the nearest exit.

carter panicked, trying to reassure himself as much as her, "you-you're gonna be okay." his voice was shaky as he repeated the words. "you're gonna be okay."

mindy groaned in pain before muttering, "goddamn it, i got it wrong again."

he was panicking and noticed mindy's expression change. "what the fuck." she muttered as carter looked around for any paramedics. finally spotting two men, he waved his arms to get their attention and gestured towards mindy, desperately calling out, "help!"

the paramedics took over, helping mindy onto a stretcher and into an ambulance. carter took a step back and he glanced down at his hands, which were shaking slightly as the scene replayed in his head. taking a deep breath, he knew he had to pull himself together. he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. he dialed his dad, watching as the ambulance sped off before the call connected.

the phone rang as he waited anxiously for his dad to answer after a moment, bailey's voice came through the phone, carter spoke up, his voice slightly shaky "dad?"

bailey responded, his voice filled with concern, "carter? where are you?"

carter let out a sigh, trying to sound calm as he answered, "i'm at the train station. mindy is on her way to the hospital."

after giving his dad a quick update on mindy's situation, carter suddenly realized that he had to get ready to head back to the theater. quinn and bailey wanted him there, so he ended the call with bailey, his mind immediately focusing on what needed to happen.
