The aftermath of the tornado had left miles and miles of the once beautiful Oklahoma landscape, desecrated and in shambles. Javi had spent countless hours, calling around trying his best to find out if his friends were alright.

He, later on, got a call from the local hospital about Kate and Demi, but damn near broke down when he heard the news about Praveen, Addy, and Jeb. Just the day before, they were all hanging out and having the time of their lives, who knew they'd be taken away in the blink of an eye?

At the hospital, Javi tried to visit Demi and Kate, but could only get a hold of Kate. Demi refused to let anyone come see her until she was out of the hospital. Kate was left with a large scar on her left leg and Demi had a huge array of scars from her shoulder down to her hand. After a few strenuous weeks, Kate and Demi were discharged and were able to go back to school. People there asked so many questions about what they saw and what happened, but the worst of it all was the constant pity. Demi hated being pityed and it didn't help that she had waves of phone calls from Luoisana coming from her family.

She tried to keep up with school, but she couldn't. Every time she closed her eyes or saw a storm, she was thrown back into remembering that day. Eventually, she couldn't take it and left school and moved away without saying a word to Javi or Kate. Soon after, Kate dropped out and moved to New York, leaving Javi behind. He didn't know what to do, he lost all of his friends so suddenly and it didn't help that the tornadoes would pick back up again, Javi didn't want Oklahoma to end up in ruins.

Demi was sitting in the meeting room with her team, snacking as her manager went over strategies and game plans over and over again. This was the last race of the 36 weeks, and at the moment, Demi was sitting in 2nd place, one victory away from 1st.

After leaving Oklahoma, she tried living in Louisana with her family. The first few months were hard because of their constant reminders of what happened, but it got worse from there when the weather got bad and brought back memories. Once the weather cleared back up and her family was good, she left again and traveled from state to state.

Not before long, she ended up settling in North Carolina. She had spent almost all of her life chasing storms and diving head-first into dangerous weather, but not anymore. Demi didn't care if she was running away, the memories that kept her up at night shook her to her core. The adrenaline she used to feel haunted her at each job she tried.

In her spare time, she did street races and spent time out on the empty highways just speeding and this eventually led to her career in racing. The job was difficult because of the training and how strict it was, but she got the hang of it. Even though she was one of the best racers, she still kept her life private and away from the media the best she could. It didn't help that there was the danger of crashing, but the adrenaline high racing gave her outweighed the feeling.

During the earlier days of her career, Demi had gotten into a few accidents, but it only motivated her to keep going since she had nothing else to live for. If she couldn't get a thrill from storms, she'd spend the rest of her life getting it from racing.

After a bit more deliberation and discussion, announcers came over the intercom to inform the teams and racers to head to the track. "Alright, team, get paid, celebrate, and go home, got it?" Demi's manager, a man with sunglasses and a headset, said.

"Yeah, let's hope I don't get nearly gets me killed again." Demi chimed in, making the rest of the team laugh. "But, you'll ready? I'm trying to get out of here as soon as possible."
