SANA few hours earlier.....
"You're shaking."Seonghwa mentioned quietly beside him.
It was dark outside and they were standing in front of the house San bought for Wooyoung. It hadn't even been 20 minutes since they landed back in the country from Italy. A lot of people would find it hypocritical that he had rushed here from the airport despite having not talked to Wooyoung in over a year but San was selfish. Even as his guilt was eating at him he still wanted to see Wooyoung so badly it hurt.
"I'm worried."San anxiously mumbled back.
Seonghwa sighed and stepped forward to knock on the door twice. Nothing. San could only wait like a coward. A few more knocks with no response and Seonghwa just took the keys from his hand to unlock the door.
"I don't think he's here."Seonghwa said as he walked in.
San swallowed nervously and followed him inside. His breath hitched as soon as Seonghwa switched on the lights.
Oh my god.
Wooyoung really did stay. Knowing his personality, San had expected to find the house empty like he had left it. The blanket on the couch, the sneakers beside the coat hanger, the dishes in the sink and the pile of books and a laptop on the table with a half empty cup of coffee next to it. The whole room was furnished and looked like a real cozy home.
"San."Seonghwa called out.
"He stayed."San's eyes brimmed with tears.
"Of course he did. You told him to. Do you think he's...."
San didn't let him finish speaking as he closed the door and rushed up the stairs to the bedrooms. He flung the door open and almost dropped to his knees when he was met with a neatly done bed, a laundry basket overflowing with clothes in the corner, a gaming chair and table and photo frames of him and San on the nightstand.
"You know you can't be running up and down like that. What's wrong?"Seonghwa came in a few seconds later.
"I left him but he still stayed. I should have been there for him."San swallowed back the tears.
"It was all just wrong timing, San. It's okay. Stop beating yourself up for it. It's almost 10 and he's not here. I think you should call him."
"I did a few times before we boarded the plane but he didn't pick up."San fished out his phone from his pocket and looked at the 10 unanswered calls on his screen.
Seonghwa hummed."Then just wait for him here. He probably has it on dnd or something."
"I don't think I can just sit and wait. What if something happened to him?"San suddenly panicked.
