YUNHO.
Yunho had no interest in celebrating his birthday which was why the plan had been to sleep in but Mingi had walked into his room at around 1pm asking him to pack up for a night out. He easily could have said no but saying that to someone he was such a huge simp for was way harder than anyone thought.
Mingi had drove them to his parents beach house. The one they had went to last time with the guys. As soon as they arrived, he told Yunho to spend the day out shopping and doing whatever he wanted while Mingi stayed behind at the house.
He knew something was definitely up. A surprise of some sort. He didn't ruin it though and played along, going shop to shop, an amusement park and a bookstore he'd been wanting to visit all just so he could kill time that Mingi clearly needed. He only came back after receiving a text from Mingi to come back. It was now dark outside so he had to have been done with whatever he had been doing.
"You're kind of making me nervous here."Yunho said, eyes closed as he was slowly guided by Mingi behind him.
Judging by the sand he could feel beneath his feet, the chill breeze that rose goosebumps to his skin and the sound of water rippling, they had to be outside.
"I spent 4 hours preparing this. You better like it."the other whispered in his ear.
"It'll depend on what you did."he drawled back.
"Alright. You ready?"
"Yeah."
"In three, two, one. Happy Birthday."Mingi slid his hands off his face.
Yunho opened his eyes and blinked rapidly to adjust to the light before taking in the sight in front of him.
"So? What do you think?"Mingi asked.
Yunho was floored. A huge gazibo along the shore of white flowy curtains tied by green palm leaves. Around it were candles and in the middle a table covered by a cream silky cloth and two matching chairs. There was food and a bottle of champagne on the table that was decorated with scattered petals of white roses.
"Mingi-ah."Yunho said in awe.
"Hmm? You like it? Too much? Not your style? Too cheesy? Is it...."
"Shut up you idiot this is beautiful. Did you really do this yourself?"Yunho walked forward into the pretty enclosure.
"Damn right I did. I had to ask Yeosang for some ideas with the aesthetic but yes I did all of this."Mingi replied proudly.
"I love it. I don't know what to say. This is just so beautiful. Thank you."Yunho got a little teary eyed. All his life he'd been a person that people needed. Someone who took care of others. To finally have a person in his life that did that for made him happy and a bit emotional.
"Nothing you don't deserve. Have a seat?"Mingi pulled back the chair for him.
Yunho smiled and sat down. On both their plates was a slice of honey soy glazed salmon with shrimp pasta. His stomach grumbled low at the mouthwatering food.
