SEONGHWA.

He had been sitting outside his house since morning. It was dark outside now, there was a drizzle and Hongjoong was still not answering his calls. He was exhausted from jet lag and hungry but he didn't move an inch. In a way, he saw this as punishment. It's what he deserved. Sat down on the porch stairs, arms hugging his knees and head buried between them, his hands shook from fear of how things would go. He couldn't even come up with an excuse for this one. He had genuinely fucked up.

The initial intention of him being cold and pushing Hongjoong away had been because he was afraid. He had believed he wasn't going to recover from their mother's death. That he wasn't going to come back and when he saw the hope and love in Hongjoong's eyes everytime they were together, he knew the other was going to wait for him. Seonghwa had not wanted that for him. Empty promises that he avoided making because Hongjoong deserved better. Since Seonghwa was a coward and didn't have the heart to just tell him that he didn't see himself ever coming back, he chose the stupid easy way out of just being harsh and making Hongjoong forget about him and hopefully Seonghwa doing so too.

That however backfired on him because Seonghwa did not forget about him. Not in the slightest. Everyday throughout the whole year, he'd think about that beautiful boy with the blue hair. Even as time passed, he could feel his yearning become deeper and deeper until he couldn't take it anymore. One time he had almost got on the plane and flew over but that image of San lying unconscious on the hospital bed had stopped him in his tracks.

Either way, Seonghwa missed Hongjoong. To the point where it felt like he would go crazy. His biggest fear was that feeling was not mutual and that he was over....

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my yard?"

Seonghwa's heart stopped for a brief second. His arms fell limp from his legs and head raising up to see Hongjoong standing a few feet away from him in a raining coat. The porch light wasn't lit so the other obviously couldn't make out clearly who he was.

"Hongjoong."Seonghwa got up on his shaky legs.

It was as if everything was moving in slow motion. Hongjoong's furrowed brows easing and eyes widening, Seonghwa's heart erratically beating against his chest, the sound of the autumn leaves rustling on the pavement and their unsteady breathing.

"Seonghwa?"Hongjoong whispered in disbelief.

"Hi."he replied awkwardly, stepping forward.

And just like that, Hongjoong's expression immediately changed. It was almost unrealistic the way it did. From shock to complete blank. Almost as if he could see what was happening but at the same time not understanding the situation. Seonghwa risked another step closer and felt his heart drop when he could see Hongjoong's face more clearly.

Eyes dead and hollow, skin pale white in a sickening way, lips chapped and a fresh bruise on his cheek. His blue hair gone and replaced by a frail mop of black hair. He seemed to have lost a lot of weight too if the definition of his cheekbones was anything to go by.
