Migs' POV

As Migs and Amara finished cuddling, Migs decided to take a shower. The warm water helped her relax and gather her thoughts. After getting dressed, she headed out to a nearby flower shop, wanting to surprise both Amara and her little sister, Madie. She bought a bouquet of roses for Amara and a smaller bouquet of tulips for Madie. On her way back, she also picked up some ice cream, knowing it would delight both of them.

When Migs arrived home, she handed the flowers to Amara and Madie. Madie’s face lit up with joy as she kissed her kuya on the cheek. Amara smiled warmly, kissing Migs on the lips and hugging her tightly. "Thank you for the flowers, love," Amara said, her eyes sparkling with appreciation.

As they sat down to eat, Migs' phone rang. She answered it, recognizing Gabby's voice on the other end. Gabby sounded distressed, informing her that the event planned for the night was canceled because he was going to the hospital. Concerned, Migs asked what had happened.

"Gabby, what’s wrong?" Migs asked, worry evident in her voice.

"Meng was hit by a car," Gabby replied, his voice trembling. "She's in critical condition."

Migs' heart sank. She put the phone down and looked at Amara, her expression filled with concern and urgency. "Amara, can I go to the hospital? Meng was hit by a car. She's in critical condition."

Amara's eyes widened in shock, but she quickly nodded. "Of course, love. You should be there. Do you want me to come with you?"

Migs nodded gratefully, appreciating Amara's support. They quickly got ready and headed to the hospital. The ride was silent, filled with anxiety and concern for Meng. When they arrived, they found Gabby in the waiting room, looking distressed.

"Migs," Gabby said, his voice filled with emotion as he saw her. "She's in surgery now. The doctors are doing everything they can."

Migs sat down next to Gabby, taking his hand in hers. "She's strong, Gabby. She'll pull through."

Hours passed, each minute feeling like an eternity. Finally, a doctor came out, his expression serious. "Are you here for Meng?" he asked.

Gabby, Migs, and Amara nodded. "Yes, doctor. How is she?" Gabby asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

"She's stable for now," the doctor said. "The next 24 hours are critical, but she's a fighter. We’ll do everything we can to help her recover."

Relief washed over them, though the worry remained. They took turns visiting Meng, offering her words of encouragement and hoping for her swift recovery. Migs felt a deep sense of guilt, wishing she could have been there to protect her.

As the night went on, Migs stayed by Meng's side, holding her hand. Amara sat next to her, providing silent support. Madie, understanding the gravity of the situation, stayed with their father at home, waiting for updates.

Migs whispered softly to Meng, "You have to get better, Meng. We're all here for you. I'm so sorry for everything. Please, fight through this."

Amara gently squeezed Migs' shoulder, offering her strength. "She'll be okay, love. She knows how much she means to you."

The hours dragged on, but Migs never left Meng's side. She vowed to be there for her, no matter what, and to cherish the relationships she had, never taking them for granted again.

A few hours later, Meng woke up and saw Amara sitting nearby. Amara noticed Meng's eyes opening and approached her quietly, not wanting to wake Migs, who was sleeping in a chair beside the bed.

Meng's eyes narrowed as she saw Amara. Without warning, she slapped her. Amara was shocked, stumbling back. The commotion woke Migs, who quickly sat up, confused and concerned.

"Meng, what happened?" Migs asked, her voice filled with worry.

Meng glared at both of them, shouting, "Get out of my room! Hindi ko kayo kailangan!"

Migs started crying, her heart breaking at Meng's rejection and anger. Amara, understanding the depth of Meng's feelings, gently led Migs out of the room, knowing it was best to give Meng some space.

Once outside, Migs couldn't hold back her tears. Amara tried to comfort her, holding her close. "Let's go to a nearby cafeteria," Amara suggested softly, knowing that some food might help them both feel a little better. "It's already 4 PM, and we haven't eaten lunch."

Migs nodded, wiping her tears. They walked to a nearby café, the weight of the day's events heavy on their shoulders. Once inside, they found a quiet corner and ordered some food. Migs sat silently, her mind still reeling from Meng's outburst.

Amara reached across the table, taking Migs' hand in hers. "Migs, Meng is just hurt and confused. Give her some time. She'll understand eventually."

Migs nodded, squeezing Amara's hand. "I know, but it still hurts. I never wanted to cause her any pain."

"I know, love. We'll get through this together," Amara reassured her, offering a comforting smile.

Their food arrived, and they ate in relative silence, both lost in their thoughts. The warmth of the food and the presence of each other provided some solace, though the tension of the situation remained.

After they finished eating, Migs felt a bit more composed. "Thank you for being here, Amara. I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Always, Migs. We're in this together," Amara replied, giving her a reassuring hug.

They left the café, feeling slightly better but knowing they still had a lot to work through with Meng. Despite the challenges, they were determined to face them together, supporting each other every step of the way.
