Chapter 18

Y/N POV

A month has passed and time just went on like that. Now, it's 12th of October. And you know what I mean? “It's Jimin's birthday tomorrow!” I shouted and jumped on my bed in my room like a mad woman.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. I was kinda confused because, yes, it's still early. But, who would knock on my door? Probably not Jin oppa. He never knocks on my door at 7pm. Why? Oh... Because it's nighttime! As I was thinking, I was walking downstairs and when I reached the door, I was just shocked.

My mom was outside my door and told me “Y/Nahh, happy birthday!” I suddenly remembered that my past birthday is October 13th, same as Jimin. “Thank you eomma!!” I said and hugged her.

Though my mom is always on a business trip, we were always bonding. So I grew close to her overtime. “Y/Nahh, where do you wanna go on your birthday?” My mom asked while we are eating. Now, this is my chance!

“I wanna go to Busan eomma, I want to look for seagulls.” I lied again. I don't even know what seagull is, I just heard that from Jungkook.

“Great! I'll tell your adviser that you're gonna skip school tomorrow because we're going somewhere.” she said and I immediately answered. “I don't want to skip school, mom. Let's just go after school”

“Well, okay. Sure, dear.” she said and I asked her “What about your work?” she said “I took a leave for your birthday. But after we go to Busan, I'll be going back to my apartment”

Yes, she rents an apartment where her work is near. So that it's easier for her to go there. That's why I'm often alone in this house. My happy hour, eh? My mom just sends some money for me for my allowance. Moving on...

“Hmm, okayy” I said and continue eating.

MORNING

Y/N POV

I wake up with a smile on my face. Happy birthday Jiminshiii!!! And happy birthday to me btw. I went up to take a bath. I then wore my uniform and dolled up. I just put some hairclips in my hair everywhere. I opened my phone and took a selfie. After that I went downstairs.

“Jagiyaaaa happy birthday! ” my mom said and hugged me. “Hmm thank you eomma.” I said and genuinely smiled.

“Let's have breakfast now, I cooked seaweed soup for you.” she said and we ate together. After breakfast, I brushed my teeth and bid goodbye to my mom.

When I got outside, I said Jin oppa standing there. I smiled and went near him. “Happy birthday Y/Nahhh” he said and slightly pushed me by his elbow. “Thank you, oppa. By the way, I won't be able to go with you later because we'll go to Busan for my birthday.” I said while we were walking.

“Well, good for you! But didn't you go there months ago?” he asked and smirked at me. “I-I want to see seagulls on my birthday!” I said while smiling nervously.

“Wait, I have a surprise for you when get to the school” he said looking at me. “Oh really? Well, I'm not excited” I said sarcastically and ran. “You bish! Come back here!” he said and ran to me.

When we got to school, he took me the abandoned room. He said that it's their secret hangout. When he opened the door, I saw Jiung oppa and Yurim unnie holding a banner that says 'HAPPY Y/N DAY' and the other one that says something in Korean '생일축하해, 전 Y/N' (Happy birthday, Jeon Y/N). And Seungwan unnie was holding a purple cake with the numbers 1 and 4 on it. Yes, it's 14.

When they saw me, they immediately shouted “Happy birthday Y/N!” it felt so heartwarming. No one did this to me ever, not even my dad in the present. “Thank you soooo much sunbaenims! Really, thank you!”

“You're always welcome Y/Niee, now make a wish” Yurim unnie said and gestured Seungwan unnie to come near me. I closed my eyes and wished. 'I wish.... For Jin oppa to be happy even when I'm gone.' I wished quietly and blew the candles.

“YAYY!” They cheered and hugged me.
