My Past Love Story

Chapter 20

Y/N POV

It's been almost a month since I met Jimin and now, I'm preparing the ingredients for the recipes for my birthday since it's already the 8th today. I invited Jin oppa and our friends, my sunbaenims, to my house since mom said she's on a business trip again.

She doesn't know that the real me's birthday is 9th of November.

I prepared the ingredients of seaweed soup, pasta, tteokbokki, kimchi fried rice, and Filipino rice cakes. Since I love the Philippines so much that it's my dream destination, it's their culture to cook some looooong food on birthdays for long life. Like noodles and pasta.

So now, I already bought the ingredients, sliced and chopped it so that I'll just cook it in the morning. It's Sunday tomorrow so there's not much of a problem.

I also picked a beautiful red dress for me to wear for tomorrow since it's also a Filipino culture. Red is a happy color so you should wear it on your birthday for a happy life.

After everything, I immediately went to bed, which is not usual since it's only 7pm and I usually go to bed at Midnights on weekends.

I can't believe it! This is the second time I celebrated my birthday but last year, I only bought myself a cupcake. Now, I felt like being hyped up so I want to cook for myself and for my friends.

MORNING

Y/N POV

Happy Birth-Tay to me!!! I woke up so early 'cause of excitement, it's only 7am and I'm now eating my breakfast while watching Titanic on TV.

I can't cry, Jack..... If I cry on my birthday, then I'll cry often. I should be happy. I should be happy, Jack. WHY DID YOU DIE, JACK?!

After the movie, I felt that my cheeks are wet. Realizing that I failed to stop my tears, I just sighed and washed my dishes.

I put on some music while having a general cleaning since there are gonna be guests here later, I told them that the party is at 2pm so I still have some time to clean.
I'm singing along while cleaning the house which is for me, is so satisfying because I really love music.

Whoever the singer is, once I liked a song, I'll always listen to it. It's just that I have a favorite singer, and it's obvious who that is. The other one is the girl who write songs about her past lovers, and the other seven are the global superstars as of 2022.

I finished cleaning at 10am. After that, I cooked the foods that I always wanted to eat. I also went to the nearest bakery to buy a purple mini-cake for me. I'll share with them, though. I'm not that greedy.

When I went home, I put the cake in the freezer and I took a bath. I put on my dress, fixed my hair and everything, and done!! I looked pretty as always.

Just then, the doorbell rang indicating there's someone outside. When I opened the door, I saw them and greeted me “Hi, Y/N!”

“Hi, please come in.” I said and they went inside. “Wowww you're house is beautiful, Y/N! Your mom has a great taste!” Jiung oppa said. “Thank you, oppa. Mom really does like green.” I said while giving the house a look. I didn't really like green, let me tell you.

“Let's eat now, I'm hungry.” I said while leading them to the dining. “Your dress is nice, jagi.” said Yurim unnie while smiling at me. “Thank you unnie.” I said and smiled back.

“What's with the dress? You didn't like red, but you've been wearing red 2 times in a row everytime the date is 9th of November.” Jin oppa asked while looking at me kind of.... I don't know.

The past me doesn't like red? Red is not my favorite color but I'm attracted to red! That's why I like the song RED!!

“Well, it's because... Hmm, I love red now! And 9th of November is... Uhm, I like it just because.” I said while crossing my arms and pouting. “Well, if that's the reason then, okay! If you like it, then we can celebrate it every year.” Seungwan unnie said while patting my head.

“Thank you unnie, now let's eat!” I said and we went to the dining table to eat. “But wait! Let me just put the candle on the cake and light it up, so I'll make a wish and we can eat!” I said while excitedly jumping.

“Why, jagi? It's not your birthday.” Seungwan unnie asked. “Uhmm, it's because I want to blow a cake right now, and I can!” I said while smiling. Lowkey nervous. “Okay then.” she replied.

After I lit up the candle, I made a wish. It's the same wish that I said on my other birthday. I wish for Jin oppa to be happy even when I'm gone. After that, I blew the candles and we ate.

“I cooked all of this! This one is a Filipino rice cake, it's called biko. It's a dessert!” I said while pointing at one dish I'm sure they don't know. “I know, Y/N. Didn't need instructions.” Jin oppa said mocking me. “But we didn't know it, if she never said it we would've asked her.” Yurim unnie said and smacked Jin oppa.

I smiled secretly, when Jin oppa noticed it. I saw him smiled happily and ate the food.
