History: Lord Leyton was unhorsed at a tourney at Storm's End by Ser Barristan Selmy. Lord Tywin Lannister offered his dwarf son, Tyrion, to Leyton for marriage to one of his daughters, but Leyton, feeling insulted by the suggestion, rejected Tywin's offer.
Leyton was present for the tourney at Lannisport held to celebrate the victory of the Iron Throne over the Greyjoy rebels during Greyjoy's Rebellion in 289 AC. There, his youngest daughter, Lynesse, was named the queen of love and beauty at the tourney's end by Ser Jorah Mormont, who had become smitten with Lynesse and who asked Leyton permission to marry her that same night. Leyton accepted the offer.
By 300 AC, Leyton has not descended from the Hightower in more than a decade.
Recent Events: Lord Leyton supports Renly Baratheon at the beginning of the War of the Five Kings. Following the Battle of the Blackwater, the small council rewards the absent Leyton with lesser tracts of land taken from the defeated.
In response to the taking of the Shields by Euron Greyjoy, Willas Tyrell sends word from Highgarden so Leyton can prepare Oldtown's defenses.
Despite the ironborn threat, Lord Leyton remains in the Hightower supposedly reading magic texts with his eldest daughter, Malora, while his sons take care of House Hightower's duties.
