ALEC

Ten hours after the kidnapping incident, Juan had finally reached out, sending us footage of Luna tied up and blindfolded on a chair.

His one request, in exchange for freeing Luna, was for me to show up alone, unarmed, and with no backup, at a location they would text us in the next few minutes.

I paced around the room, the noises and voices fading into the background as I quietly tried to figure out a loophole in this situation. If I walk in there alone to get Luna with no weapon or backup, there's a hundred percent chance I might not walk back out alive.

Juan is a very dangerous and unpredictable man. There's also a possibility that he wouldn't keep either of us alive, so both my and Luna's lives are hanging in the balance.

But I can worry about myself later. What's important is that I get Luna out safely with no scratches on her. The more we wait around for Juan to give us the go signal, the more terrified I am thinking about what they might be doing to her right now.

This is the second time she's been kidnapped. She got away safely the first time, but I doubt they'll go easy on her this time. The mere thought of them terrorizing Luna makes my blood boil and my vision cloud with rage.

I need to think fast. I have to figure out a way to work this out. Every second that goes by without us doing anything gives them more time to hurt her.

Fuck, Alec. Come on, think, buddy. Think harder!

"We've got an address!" Miguel, one of the tech guys, yelled from the other side of the room.

I quickly jogged over to his desk and hovered by his side to peer at the screen of his computer. It showed a map focusing on a huge area. The satellite screen had pinpointed the exact location Juan had texted through a link just a couple of seconds ago.

It showed a huge abandoned warehouse located near a ghost town, and my heart dropped after realizing they had taken Luna all the way there in just a short span of time. I'll have to take a chopper in order to get to them.

I stood straight and started to walk back to my office to start preparing. Blair and Martin suddenly joined my side, and we all started walking together.

"You do need backup," Blair said.

"No. He said to come alone, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."

"But you can't just go over there alone, Alec." She argued.

I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face her.

"I know. But I'm not going to risk it by letting any of you do anything they could sense as a potential threat," I answered firmly while looking between her and Martin. "I have this handled. I'll make sure to bring Luna back."

At least one of us has to make it out of that shithole alive.

OoO

I stood outside the gigantic warehouse. Its old, crusty walls and windows looked like they were trying to hold everything together, and if I were to kick down the door, this whole place would come crumbling down in a heartbeat.

They're keeping Luna in there.

I can feel that she's near me. I am just one step closer to freeing her from these monsters, and even if I don't make it out, I'll make sure none of them do as well. Only Luna will get out of this place alive.

My phone started vibrating in my pocket, and I pulled it out without taking my eyes off the shitty building in front of me, scanning the windows on the top floor for any sign of movement.
