When we got to the place I got distracted with the view. There were beautiful and unique trees everywhere you looked. It was honestly quite camping.
Well it would be if it weren't for the many, and I mean many, families everywhere.
It wasn't long before we broke off from the many people at the entrance that looked to be waiting for something, and get to where the counsel was waiting for us.
The entire time we were walking I was holding onto one of their hands. For support and comfort, or just so I didn't fall with these heels, I don't even know.
Once we did get there, the counsel immediately started saying their condolences and apologizing for the tragic accident as they called it. But to be honest I wasn't really listening. I was looking at the other family that was there. The Dizznees.
The family consisted of a beautiful woman with red hair, no doubt the mother, with her strawberry blond husband. But what coat my mind was the three little kids. Two strawberry blond boys and one red haired girl. They all had a look of sorrow on their faces and tears in their eyes or going down their faces.
Zoning back into what was happening I find Della hugging Eda with Alden trying to comfort both men who lost their kids.
When did they get here? Was I that out of it?
Looking around I see a long line of people making their way over to us. I guess we'll be starting soon. And we did.
The counsel started talking about who knows what and soon it was time for the planting. Della was holding onto me while both Grady and Edaline placed the seed and hair into the hole. But it wasn't just them but also Dex's parents doing the same for him.
Once they covered both seeds both mothers grabbed a bottle and poured it over the seeds. Helping them grow. And it didn't take long at all for them to sprout.
They both were small but you could tell the difference pretty well. Sophie's had yellow flowers with beautiful brown bark. And Dex's had pail bark with strawberry blond leaves and blue flowers growing along the leaves. They also smelled different.
Dex's smelled more like dirt and elixir stuff, and Soph's smelled like roses. But what was really weird was that when the scents came together it was almost comforting.Once everyone was done admiring the new trees we all turned around to see a long line waiting to comfort us.
And so for the next half hour or so I shook hands with a bunch of people I had never met, and could only hear so much of what they were saying to us. I was numb.
That is until a man with long platinum blond hair and tan skin came up with a younger boy behind him. They boy had darker skin and dark brown hair with beautiful blue eyes.
"I'm so sorry for your loss Akari." I stood there with wide eyes. No one had addressed me except for Della and Alden, they had only been shaking my hand and apologizing to Grady and Eda. But he didn't. He talked directly to me.
"No one deserves to lose a sibling, especially a twin. I'm not saying it won't hurt, but it will get better. It'll just take time." He continued. Looking at him more, he looks like the man Soph was always talking about from school. Saying that he was her favorite teacher.
"...Thank you.." was all I said before looking to the side with tears threatening to break out.
He just smiled sadly and nodded before walking to Eda and the others. The boy behind him was about to go with him, but he stopped mid step and turned around, doing something no one had done yet.
He pulled me into an embrace letting me bury my head into his shoulder all while running his hand down my back. "I know it's not easy. And it's never going to be truly easy, but if you ever need anything, you can always come to me."
He said pulling away and placing a paper with his name in my hand. And then walked off to my guess was his father?
Soon the Vaker kids came up for their turn. And Biana also hugged me while whispering that she would always be there for me and all I had to do was ask. Fitz also pulled me into a hug but not for as long as his sisters.
But when Alvar came up, he hugged me laying his head on top of mine all while saying how sorry he is and how he wished it could have been different. What he meant I will never know.
However he then did something I wasn't expecting, he kissed my forehead and told me to stay safe, and then walked off to the others.
It was pretty much the same with the others; Keefe, Meralla, Meruca, Jensi, and even Stina. But what was really nice was that both Linh and Tam were also able to come.
And soon we were done and able to return home. It was a hard day for all of us but it was ok because I had my family. It might not be whole without Sophie, but it was still family.
May you rest easily now Sophie Elizabeth Foster and Dexter Alvin Dizznee. You will be forever missed and loved.
