Third Person:
Over the next few days, it wasn't any better. If anything it was worse. After waking up back in her room, Akari had refused to come out. She wouldn't eat, nor could she. She also wasn't sleeping.
It was pretty bad. Both Edaline and Grady had both tried to get her out or to talk to her, but nothing would work. It got to the point that they had to talk to Elwin and Alden to see what to do.
But no one had a clue on how to help her.
The counsel got word of all this and let's just say that many are not too happy with Emery for how he handled the situation.
But even with all the backlash with the counsel, no one had heard anything about the missing children. Not even the families.
It finally got to the point that Alden and those who were looking, were starting to give up. And it only got worse when they had found both pendants washed up on shore.
That's when they called it, and everyone was getting ready for their Wandering ceremonies.
Akari's POV:
It was quiet.
And Dark.
Almost like the calm before the storm.
Why did it have to be her? Why was it my best friend that had to be taken? We had so much to experience together.. She was supposed to be there for everything..
Now who's going to be there for my heart acks? Or who is supposed to be my maid of honor at my wedding?
Who am I supposed to go to when everything gets hard? Where will my life go now? With my sister gone...
My thought train was broken when Grady knocked on the door. I know it was him because of the way he walks. His steps are louder and harder compared to Edaline's, who has very quiet steps. They are softer and barely noticeable.
"Hey... Umm.. We're going to be leaving soon.. For the ceremonies.. Are you sure you don't want to go..??" His voice was soft and it sounded like he was about to break down any moment.
Instead of answering him, I got up and walked over to him. And for the first time since everything, I hugged him.
He froze for a second but then he hugged me back just as hard as I was hugging him. And we just started like that for a few moments. Taking in the warmth and comfort of the other.
Soon we both let go, but not without tears visibly flowing down both our faces. "Why don't I go get Eda and we find you a nice dress? That way we can all get some closure.." Again I didn't respond, just nodded ever so slightly.
It wasn't long before they both came back in and were in my closet trying to find a nice outfit. Apparently, according to Edaline, green is the best choice for this acaition. Which is weird but she said it was because it's the color of life.
Luckily they had found one without too much difficulty. It was a beautiful forest green silk with a layer of sea green mesh over it. The mesh was also laced with small Emeralds all along it. And the bodice was more of a corset type, being just a tad bit darker then the forest green. It was again made of silk with emerald green mesh sleeves. The dress also came with an emerald necklace that was the shape of a dragon. As well as some Forest green heels with small crystals along the sides.
According to Edaline and Grady they didn't know where it came from. Just that there was a small note with it saying something along the lines of Were it with pride. -N.S () But I didn't really care where it came from. Because it was really pretty.
And with that, we made our way to the place my sister would stay for the rest of eternity.
