I smile ready to meet the next customer to come in and smile wide when I see that it was berkeley. The girl who was on a date here a few weeks ago! My smile got bigger as she seemed to recognize me and came over with a smile of her own.
"Hi!" she said. She and I greeted her back. "What could I get you."
"I am not really here for that, could we possibly sit down for a second" she says pointing towards an empty booth by the window.
"Ok sure, wait really quick." I tell her as I get Sarah to cover my tables. I was covering her tables as she was taking a break in the back. She had been on her break for more than an hour now and I hoped she wouldn't mind.
"Hey Sarah," I say as I peek my head into the break room. "Could you take over the tables really quickly? I need to do something." I asked as she looked up towards me instead of her phone.
"Sure, but don't be too long."
She gets up walking towards me putting her apron back on. Nodding my head in agreement i happily go over to berkeley "so what is it you want to tell me"
"uhmm well the other day you really helped me out and I want to repay the favor. I recently opened up my own wedding planner company and I wanted you to be my receptionist/secretary. The pay would be really good and would rise as the business gets popular."
She explained and I looked at her in shock as she explained all of this to me. "Why me II- I mean. don't have people much more experienced at all of this. You could get someone way better at a job like that." I say not really getting the logic behind the fact she wanted to hire me.
Smiling, she just continues. "Well I could but I really like the aura you give off and I want someone like that working with me. Plus you could always learn."
Not knowing what to say I just nod my head. Never in a million years would I think I could get an opportunity like this. This would be so much better than working at the cafe. "Ok I will do it"
Jumping up excitedly and she comes over to my side of the table hugging me. "Thank, thank, you don't know how much you have helped me out." she says and i just hug her back still in a slight shock.
"Well you could stop by my office tomorrow at any time and we can talk about the job in more detail." she says writing down the address on a napkin.
She leaves the cafe and I am still thinking about the whole situation.
I take back over serving the table. Sarah was helping till she decided to go back in the back for another break leaving me to take over on serving all the tables.
