"The food looks wonderful momma "
" glad you like it baby "
" how are my two favorite ladies in the world "
"Hey baby " my mom pecks my dad on the lips "hi dad"  I give him a hug .. we sit and eat dinner together every night I really cherish my family and times like this .

Next day at school 8th grade

"Milan what do you mean you didn't do your science homework?"

"Uggh V I was busy playing SIMs 3 I didn't get around to doing it can I just look at yours ?

" Whatever Mimi sure "

" since your mom and dad are letting you spend the weekend we should go to kaylors party "

" sure Mimi , just hurry and copy the notes class beginning in 15 minutes "

Saturday night
Kaylors party

"Okay guys let play 7 minutes in heaven "

Vanessa looks around confused as all her classmates are paired up with a partner she didn't really care her focus was school, succeeding and shopping. And going to Columbia for law school after graduating HS.

Vanessa looks and sees mimi running off to a bathroom with her Crush Josh. She shakes her head and goes to sit on the porch of kaylors ranch as the rest of the teens go wild.

She hears the screen door open and closes she turns around and sees nick Beckham one of her class mates coming to sit down next to her on the porch

" hi "
"Hi"
"Why aren't you in there Mr. Star wide receiver ?" I'm sure you have alot of fans that would love to play 7 minutes in heaven with you "
" nah I'm not interested in any of them "
His answer honestly shocked Vanessa she was told all boys wanted what was in between girls legs so for nick to not want it gave him a point in Vanessa's eyes.. Also deep down Vanessa had a crush on nick since 7th grade they were going to 9th grade after this summer.
"Do you like J Cole?"
" yea I fucks with J cole "
"Same I feel like he's very intelligent "
Nick busses out laughing at Vanessa
" what's funny Nick "
" you would listen to rap music and label the artist as intelligent it's very on brand for you "
" what's that's supposed to mean" she has nudging his shoulder " nothing V your perfect "
For the rest of the party the two sat there talking about any and everything a laughed under the stary night sky 🌌

Summer break
(May -July )

For majority of the summer I've helped my dad with the farm and hung out with Mimi it's been so fun .. on occasion I chat with Nick when I go to Mimi's house because they live on the same street honestly I feel like he's becoming my best friend 🙂.

Random Friday night during the summer

I'm sleeping by Milan's house today and her parents are going on an anniversary trip to Panama City and are leaving me and Milan at their house . It started off as a girls night eating snack painting our nails and watching to all the boys I've loved before but that was cut short when we got a visit from Josh and Nick .
Milan let them in of course and I was in a tank top no bra and booty shorts so I slipped on my robe while Milan and Josh thought it was a good idea to leave the house and do god know what I stayed and watch the movie and so did Nick . We were sitting on opposite sides of the couch and I was eating caramel popcorn when I notice the atmosphere wasn't as lighthearted and fun as it normally is when we are around each other .
" Nick are you okay "
" he stared ahead as a held a throw pillow infront of him, continuously clenching his fist around the corners of the pillow "
" nick " i said as i scooted over to him and placed my hand over his hands . He then looks down at my hand and then looks over at me with tears in his eyes
" are- are you okay " my voice cracks as I'm trying to understand what's going on
" I fucking hate it , I fucking hate it V "
"Hate what Nick I'm not understanding, tell me what's wrong"I now place my hand on his back and rub his back while he breaks down crying
"My -my dad he hits my mom .. today I seen him shove her face into the stove while it was on because she was late fixing him dinner because she had to iron his work clothes "
" omg I'm so sorry your going through this and have to witness this " Vanessa lays her head on his shoulder and nick places his head over her head as he tries to calm down now holding Vanessa's hands in his . He closes his eyes and says
" I love you V "
Vanessa opens her eyes and feels her heart flutter and butterflies in the depths of her stomach.. she smiles softly and responds " I love you to Nick "
The two fall asleep on the sofa like that ..
