It started out with a kiss

Chapter 9 - Day 3

A/N- I feel like I've got quite bad writers block today so if this chapter is a bit all over the place then sorry. 

WINTER

I was still exhausted from our busy day yesterday so I was going to ask Autumn is she just wanted to chill inside today, play some board games maybe and I was going to try get Autumn to do some baking with me as well but I didn't know how she would feel about that. She wasn't actually awake yet so I decided to get ready and just head out to the shops to get a few things for if we were staying inside, it's just always better to be prepared than to have to rush around when we were both up trying to get some stuff sorted for the day. I checked around some of the local shops and since it was a Sunday a lot of the bigger ones weren't open so I wanted to do something to pass time, the only thing i could think of though was to straighten my hair , as much as I liked not having to I just needed something quiet to do while I waited. It didn't take me too long but by the time I would have got to the shops they would have been open anyway so I just got up and left the house. I had a slight idea of what I wanted to get but I didn't want to start thinking about it too much before I could see what the shops actually had. I ended up being the first inside so everything was fully stocked so o just went round picking up anything that I thought would be good for the day even if we weren't going to use it. I knew that Autumn's alarm was going to go off at 9:30 this morning and it was only 8:14 so I knew that I had loads of time before she was going to be up and before she would start getting ready so thought I would go round some more of the shops on the high street and get a few little things that I knew she would like. I knew she loved records so I went into the music shop and got few of her favorites I knew she didn't have yet. I knew she would like some wine at some point so I made sure to get the same bottle we first shared together, 1946 Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes, I'm using it as a sort of reminder of the beginning of us, to show how far we've come from a one time hookup in a bathroom stall. I just got a few more little gifts and some treats from some of the smaller shops on the street before I started heading home. I got back at about 9 so I still had half an hour to set everything up. I got all of the stuff I brought out laid it out in the kitchen, I got some board games out and out them on the coffee table in the living room. Finally I set up a little hamper with all the things I had brought for Autumn out and as I heard her footsteps walking around upstairs I put on one of the new records and stood there in the living room waiting for her to come down. I think she could hear the music as she started coming down the stairs. 

" Winter where are you?" 

"I'm in the living room my love, come here" The handle of the door slowly turned as she came in. 

" For you my love" she looked down at the things I had brought for her as she started walking over towards me. I could see tears forming in her eyes but she had a smile on her face, the most beautiful smile I've ever seen, the one that I wanted to wake up to every morning. I placed the gifts down on the coffee table next to the games as I turned back towards her and put my arms out gesturing for a hug. She ran into my arms and nuzzled her heard into my neck, her arms were wrapped tightly around my waist as I wrapped mine around her neck placing my hands on the ends of her hair lightly twisting it around my finger. Her light breaths rang in my ears as she quietly stuttered thank you to me. I moved away and put my hands around her waist as I picked her up and placed us on the sofa, we sat there comforted in each others embrace for a short while.

AUTUMN

I don't think that anyone has done anything this nice for me ever and all I was going to do was take this in. Once Winter and I had been chilling for a few minutes he told me to stand up and so i did, I was confused as to why but I trust him so i wasn't going to question it. He stood up after me and took my hand, he started leading my towards the kitchen where I then saw he had laid out a load of ingredients. I never was that good in the kitchen because growing up I always had someone to cook for me so I never really learned much about cooking.

" What's all this for"

He giggled a little bit before answering, I couldn't tell if it was a nervous laugh or if he just found what I said amusing.

" Well " he hesitated, " I was hoping that maybe only if you wanted to, obviously not if you don't want to but yeah I was hoping we could do some baking, I totally understand if..."

"Okay, what are we making" honestly I always find it so cute when Winter seems nervous around me.

"really"

" Yeah , why do you sound shocked"

"um well I guess I didn't think you would want to do it I thought you would say no" he looked at me kind of awkwardly before turning his gaze to the floor. I walked towards him placing my hand under his chin and lifting his head up to look at me. I gave his a kind of unserious look until we both just burst out laughing together.  We discussed what we were going to make and we just decided to make some chocolate muffins as we both enjoyed them and then we could have them for breakfast as well. We measured out all of the ingredients and Winter told me to start mixing them all together. He waled around somewhere behind me so I couldn't see what he was doing, next thing i know I've had a handful of flour chucked all over me. I turned to start at Winter before throwing a load of chocolate powder all in his face. We chased each other around the kitchen before both deciding to give up because we were both out of breath. We walked around to each other and just embraced in a hug. It was nice to feel so comfortable around someone for once I'm my life. I've always felt like I've had to tread on eggshells around people in fear of what they might do, well not so much as an adult because I learnt how to stand up for myself, that was mostly when I was young. We pulled away from each other as I went back to mixing together the ingredients as Winter started tidying up the huge mess we had created. I also made sure I snuck in some extra chocolate chips to the mixture while Winter wasn't looking, I had always had a massive sweet tooth and I wanted some extra chocolate in there. We put the batter the muffin cases and put them all in the oven so that me and Winter could go shower. We went upstairs and just got straight in, we didn't want to get anything else dirty especially since it wasn't even our house. When we got out we just got into some more comfortable clothes and went back downstairs to put on some more music and play some board games. My favorite board games were the trivia ones, especially trivia pursuit, I think its because I always know the answers so I could always just beat everyone. I sat down on the sofa as Winter put on a new record, coincidentally the muffins were ready at the same time as well so he went and grabbed them for us so we could eat them while they were still warm. While he was gone i set out the bird game and got out the prices and the question cards. When he got back he out the food down and we started playing, it didn't go on for very long though.

WINTER

I will always loved playing trivia games with Autumn because it meant I could just admire how smart she was, the way she got so involved in the game, the way she knew the answer to every question before I gave the answer options. It always just made me feel lucky to have someone so smart. After a while though we decided to stop playing board games, we had eaten some of the muffins and it was getting on in the day as it was about 4pm now, neither of us had realized how fast the time as gone but I guess when you have someone like Autumn to look at you don't notice anything going on around you. We were both getting a little tired so we decided to just cuddle up together on the sofa for a bit to try and have a nap. Next thing I know we both wake up and its completely dark outside and the time was just past 10. We both were quite hungry though so reluctantly I got myself up to go make us some dinner, we knew that a lot of good takeaway places wouldn't have been open so I didn't have much of a choice. I have to admit though it was absolutely freezing when I got up so i just made us some pasta to be quick and easy because I really just wanted to go back to the warmth of Autumn. Once I had finished cooking and we had eaten we went upstairs to chill in bed, we weren't really even that tired we just wanted to try and get some more sleep before tomorrow since it was our last day here. We needed up not going to be for  few hours until we eventually did at around 1 but it was fine in the end because we wanted a slightly later start to tomorrow anyway

A/N- sorry that the ending is a bit rushed i'm just really trying to move this story along because it's been a while since I've published anything but I hope you liked it anyway
