Chapter Fifteen.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Yesterday
Maria woke up to sunlight streaming through closed blinds, lighting up the room in a warm glow. Her head spun lightly. At least she felt a bit better than she did the last time she went out with the basketball team, infact this time she'd even ended up in her own room. She looked across at her bed on the other side of the room. Next time she just had to make sure she ended up in her own bed too. The gentle sound of snoring filled the room and Maria looked down to see Kayra's tangle of black curls all over the pillow. She smelled like stale alcohol, her mascara smudged around her eyes. Her head began to pound as she started to properly wake up, she needed an ibuprofen. She tried to climb over her to get out of bed, but Kayra stirred awake.
"Five more minutes." She groaned, sensing Maria was awake. She rolled over in the bed to rest her head on Maria's shoulder. Maria sighed, letting her. She pulled out her phone to check the time, 2.43pm. They definitely needed to get better with their time management. It seemed like every time they went out she was never up before three in the afternoon the next day. At least it was the weekend and they didn't have classes. She looked back down at her phone just in time to see a notification pop up on her screen. She went to swipe it away, she was too tired to be replying to messages but the contact name caught her eye.
Paige😾 Sent You a Message.
4hours agoNot wanting to open the message she read the it from her notifications:
'Hey, Can we talk? About last night. Text me when you see this.'
Maria did not text her. She didn't want to talk to Paige, but what did she mean by 'last night'? She thought back to the night before confused about what Paige meant, when suddenly the repressed memories of their moment the previous night flooded back into her head. She jolted upright forgetting she was sharing a single bed with Kayra.
"Maria!" Kayra exclaimed as the Maria's sudden movement pushed her off the twin bed. She grabbed the duvet in desperation as she tried to stop herself from falling. It didn't work. Kayra tumbled to the floor in a heap of pillows and sheets. She looked up at Maria annoyed, but the brunette didn't catch her eye.
"Kayra, I kissed Paige." Maria's voice was low.
"Sorry, what?" Kayra looked up at Maria from where she was on the floor, the mass of blankets and pillows strewn around her on the floor. Her annoyance quickly replaced by curiosity. Her eyes opened wide in shock over the words that had just come from the brunettes mouth. Maria crawled off the bed and onto the duvet beside Kayra, leaning back onto the bed for support.
