"one of these days, you'll miss your train,
and come stay with me, we'll have drinks and....talk about things and....any excuse to stay awake with you and you'd sleep here, and I'd sleep there
but then the heating may be down again,
we'd be good, we'd be great together,"_
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome aboard flight 5589 to New York. The estimated time of arrival is 11:11 PM where the weather looks to be cloudy and rainy but hopefully we'll land just in time for the storm to pass. Fasten your seatbelts and remain seated until the seatbelt sign is off and it is safe to do so. We appreciate you choosing Delta Airlines and hope you enjoy the flight," One of the flight attendants spoke through the intercom.
The plane engine started getting ready to leave the gate as another pilot was close to closing the plane door when shouting could be heard. "Hold up, hold up!"
A series of groans and moans was heard as it was clear there was about to be a passenger left behind who just so happened to catch it in time. Sucking your teeth, you sighed and paused the music playing through one air pod in your ear to listen to what was going on.
The plane was an almost full flight and by that, you had a whole row to yourself but clearly that was about to be cut short if the late passenger was sitting next to you.
Messing with the screen in front of you, you scrolled through the different movie options knowing eventually through the five hour flight, you'll try and watch something.
The aisle seat of your row became occupied by a tall body taking its place and letting out a deep breath as he slid his book bag underneath the seat, already knowing the airplane rules.
A sigh leaving your lips at the idea of spreading out across the other seats was quickly crushed immediately since there was now another body present. The airplane started moving towards the runway getting ready for takeoff as the flight attendants immediately went over the safety instructions.
Glancing over quickly at the new person crashing your parade, you looked away before letting it register in your head before looking back over at the person and adjusting your seating to get a better look thinking you were going crazy at first.
"Chris?" You questioned and sure enough, his eyes glanced up from his phone and looked over at you, his mind taking a second to register and click that it was you.
"Yo," He spoke a bit surprised while removing his right earbud out his ear. The plane started to take off into the sky that was currently bright and clear but knowing you were going to land in the dark and in rain was terrible. "What's up? I didn't even know that was you."
