The screen displayed your face on it as you laid in bed waiting for the person on the other end to connect the call. Knowing that the last two times you tried, the two of you couldn't connect as one was busy and the other wasn't and timezones was fucking you up.
With him being on the east coast and you on the west, you would think it'd be easy but with a busy schedule like his, it was far from it.
About to press the red button on the screen and call it another failed attempt, that stopped once he picked up the phone. His face close to it and the light on the screen illuminating off of him. His background was dimly lit but you could hear a TV and a few voices behind him.
A smile immediately spread on your face seeing him as his attention was looking at something in front of him and not the phone just yet. Shaking his head at whoever, he finally glanced down at the screen, smiling as well.
"What's up?" Was the first thing he said before the two of you busted out laughing. "Nah, what's up, baby? I missed you,"
"I missed you. How's Orlando?"
"Cool," He spoke and his eyes looked up again, clearly getting distracted by something or someone. "Nah, just tell them..." Was the last thing you heard before he moved the camera away facing down, making you frown. The camera came back on his face as he looked back at the screen, "My bad, baby."
"You getting distracted over there,"
"You know how it is with me," He chuckled. "What you doing though?"
"Lying here watching Abbott Elementary." He rolled his eyes with a smile. "It's a good show, you just so corny."
"It's aight." His eyes left the screen again and instead of looking up, he looked to his right and laughter including his own filled the room and your phone speaker causing you to sigh.
"I mean if you busy-"
"Nah, we just chilling. I wanna talk to you, I missed you,"
"Well, how's the east coast been? I seen the party in ATL and now it's Orlando..."
"Um, we just came back from bowling a few hours ago. Now everyone just chilling in the room and shit," You hummed while adjusting the way you was laying.
"Chris!" A female voice called out for him in his background making him suck his teeth. Your eyebrow raised because as far as you know no girls were there.
"Hold up, baby." He spoke and paused the FaceTime call. A sigh leaving your lips as you waited for him to come back. Usually your conversations were flowing but considering the way you two haven't spoken in God knows how long, it felt dry. His replies to your text were now ten hours or a full day late. Missed FaceTime calls. Missed phone calls.
