"Girl, every time I try that stairmaster, it kills me." Your friend spoke making you smile as you both exited the gym's bathroom. "I don't know how you stay on for fourty minutes."
"The key is don't look at the time and put on a show. I promise you time will fly by,"
"Mhm...well you can keep that. Matter of fact...you can keep this whole thing because that routine was too much."
"Girl, it was nothing but weights and cardio. A full body workout,"
"A death sentence. That's what it was." Your friend shook her head, dramatically wiping sweat from her forehead.
You chuckled, reaching into your bag for your water bottle. "You're so dramatic."
She shrugged. "Maybe, but I'm just being honest. Next time, I'll be the one choosing the routine. I'm thinking something like yoga... nice and relaxing."
"Yoga is good, but you're not getting out of doing cardio," you said, playfully nudging her. "How you want a summer body but won't put the work in?"
"Bitch, I'd rather die." The two of you made your way to the outside corridor as it was split into sections. Undoing your water bottle, you walked over to the water fountain and filled it up as your friend looked at the sign that tells what was what. "They got a sauna in here? We need to do that,"
"I heard it was nice,"
"Shit, I bet." She turned her head to look at you with a smirk making your eyebrow raise.
"What?"
"It's a basketball court in here? That must be where the niggas are,"
"I don't know. I been coming here for two months now and haven't seen anybody fine," You spoke and she hummed feeling like her hopes and dreams got crushed. "Well...except this one dude."
Her eyes lit up instantly. "Wait, what? You been holding out on me? What dude?"
You laughed, shaking your head. "Girl, it ain't even like that. He's just one of the trainers. I've only seen him a couple of times in passing, but he's cute."
"Cute like how?" she asked, already intrigued.
"Cute like...tall, slim but...built? Nice smile. He seems chill, too. But it's nothing serious. Just eye candy, you know?"
Your friend crossed her arms, her expression serious for a moment before she grinned. "He black?"
"Mhm, Lightskin,"
"Interesting."
"Don't even start," You laughed while walking the way to the spa area but she was going the opposite way. "Where are you going?"
