I woke up the next morning. It was about 4:20 am. I couldn't sleep. That annoying voice, I just kept playing Bella's voice over and over trying to block it out.

I sat up and seen the astronomical twilight through the blinds and got up as quiet as possible not to wake sleeping Bella up.

I seen her up till 1 on her phone texting and scrolling on TikTok. But I just let her be. Every time she would check on me I would pretend to be asleep.

I went over to my suitcase and pulled out some Nike dark red sport shorts with a white Nike hoodie and put it on.

I got my phone off the changer. I got 1 of the liquid IVs I had in my backpack and put the powder into one of the cold water bottles from the mini fridge.

I heard shifting and mumbling from behind me in Bella's bed and turned back she was smiling up at the ceiling. Her eyes still closed she was sleeping and it was obvious she was having a good dream.

I wasn't gonna wake her to tell her I was leaving so I woke a simple note on one the napkins.

"Be back soon love. Went for an early run to get things off my mind and wake up a bit more, be back soon. Don't miss me too much. Xoxo -joão" I smiled as I read it over.

I knew it was cheesy and would make Bella have a good laugh to start the morning off right.

I put my Apple Watch on then looked over at sleeping Bella as her head was now turned towards where I was standing.

She was still asleep and her smile was now faded. I felt I could just tell what was going on in her head and i knew she was happy in that dream of hers.

"I'll be back soon, sweet girl." I leaned down and kissed her forehead softly not to wake her.

I took my phone, key card and water before leaving the room. Shutting the door silently and locking it behind me.

I put the key card in the back of my phone case and took a large sip of the water as I pressed the button to the elevator.

All that's was on my mind was what is going on in Bella's dream.

I knew whatever was going on was making her smile in her sleep. She's so adorable...

The elevator opened and I got a text from Eder (militão)

M: bro karoline is making me so pissed off right now I can't. I've been downstairs at the 24 hour bar drinking and I just wanted to say what you have is special don't mess it up or cherish it before it all falls apart i love you bro. Just looking out.

J: yeah of course always. I'm heading down rn to go for a run I'll say hi if I don't get ID checked I didn't bring my wallet

M: I'll meet you by the entrance. I need a hug from my favorite bro.

J: okay on level 3 see you soon

Eder was always my favorite drunk. He was hilarious and I'll agree he's not always the most loyal to his girlfriend but he was a good friend.

I seen him at the entrance of the 24 hour bar by the door of the hotel.

"João!" He bro hugged me a bit aggressively slapping my back and I smiled awkwardly as the r&b music played inside.
