Quiet but Kind

ep. 31

Weve been thinking, tracking and planning this for a little over a month now and played every single thing that could go wrong. The Jeep is a step closer to figuring out how to get out of this place and were so close.

After all of this work I'm not letting these skinny bastards stop us.

I saw Aiden jump and I thought to make it a little more interesting and flip off which somehow landed but I was proud.

"Ok let's go over the plan one last time" Ashlyn spoke

"Uh-.. Are we sure we want to do this?" Taylor asked and I snapped my head over to hers

"Do we have a choice!? I mean we've been planning for over a month and now you want to back out!?" I asked not meaning to yell

"Just hear me out, staying in the graveyard isn't so bad I mean we have everything we need here I just don't exactly hate the idea of just staying here every night" Taylor explained and Logan agreed with her

"Are you serious? I thought you guys wanted out of here.  And now your saying you don't mind being here for the rest of our lives?"

I looked over to tyler

"And why the hell are you so quiet all of a sudden? Your the one who keeps on pitching fights all the time about going to Savannah and now that we made it clear what the plan is your silent!?" I yelled and he started yelling back

"That was before there were thousands of those things outside the door!  I'm not saying I want to be stuck here I'm saying that maybe there was a more solid plan then this"

"𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝒀𝑶𝑼𝑹 𝑩𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑺 𝑼𝑷 𝑵𝑶𝑾 𝑶𝑼𝑻 𝑶𝑭𝑭 𝑨𝑳𝑳 𝑻𝑰𝑴𝑬𝑺!?" Me and Ashlyn yelled but I seemed louder then wanting and Ashlyn had to cover her ears a bit but I continued

"After all the planning, seeking around and building traps you want to back out now!?"
"Theres to many right now!"
"THATS WHY WE HAVE THE TRAPS YOU IDIOT!" I yelled as Ashlyn turned around

"No.NO. I'm getting that jeep. Even if you guys help or not we need to figure out how this place works if you guys want to escape" ashlyn spat and Aiden tried to calm her down

"Ash maybe you should-"
"𝘿𝙊𝙉'𝙏 𝙏𝙀𝙇𝙇 𝙈𝙀 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙄 𝙎𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙇𝘿 𝘿𝙊. Maybe if you hadn't been so damn pushey about me going on that fucking field trip then none of this would have happened! But you keep pushing my boundaries and I'm sick of it!"

"Why are you two getting so worked up!?" Tyler asked and I knew ashlyn was about to say something but I stopped her

"BECAUSE WERE READY NOW AND IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ANY OF YOU ASHLYN WOULD HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AS THE LEADER AND YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHERS GETTING HURT!? IT SUCKS TYLER!" I yelled feeling tears come to my eyes but my anger bubbled them out

"No one said ashlyn was the leader she did that herself!"

"Who else was going to do it!? Ive been hearing those things my whole life and apparently I have some weird connection to this place, and this all started when the Phantom grabbed me and I didn't say anything. I don't think this is entirely my fault but I'm just as scared and confused as you all are. But I'm the best suited to take 'responsibility' right!? To try and find a way out of here and protect you guys at the same time!"
She yelled

I saw her go silent as she clenched her fist and I hugged her as Taylor apologized

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize that you were taking so much pressure on your own"

I quickly stepped back from ashlyn as I remembered her boundaries "sorry I wasn't thinking"

"And your right, if we want to get out we need to stop holding this off and get out hands dirty the Phantoms and any other monsters in here are just a fact about this place and we can't stop that. The sinner we accept that the faster we can find a way out of here and get our lives back" Taylor said and I thought about something

"Wait.. If we get our lives back then would that mean we.. Stopped being friends? I mean we really only hang out to talk about this place and plan so is that the only reason were together..?" I asked and the others thought

"Of course not, we all have some connection in this. And even if we get out I say we stay friends and hang out" Taylor reassured and I smiled

"But just ignore what I said earlier"

"I still think there's to many out there...  But I guess you two are right about this being our best chance" Tyler said and I was a bit surprised

"Aiden and Ben don't seem to mind the plan either!" Taylor said as I noticed Ben give two thumbs up and Aiden spoke

"If you guys don't hurry up I'm about to climb the wall and jump over it on my own"

"Right.. Haha" I said and the others talked as I zoned out for a while

"Just please try and trust us with your thoughts and Ashlyn, I'm glad you took up as the leader"
