August 2011, or the month my life ended. It was the start of August, and the beginning of the summer season. Tension had never that high at camp, everyone was prepared for Kronos attack.  We were fighting each others, and I was worried about the loss we had face last summer. 

Kronos army was stronger and well, since Percy told us that he had possessed my brother's body, I didn't want to face him. Killing Kronos was something but killing Luke wasn't a solution, at least not for me. 

But Luke isn't the main topic, here, or not right now. Here, at this moment, the most important topic was Charles Beckendorf. He's an Hephaestus kid, and the counselor of his cabin. But above all, he was my substitute brother and my best friend Silena, boyfriend. I already told you how I met Beckendorf. But ever since we met on that day, he became a second brother after Luke, a person that since I came back to camp, would always support me and be by my side. 

Since the battle of the labyrinth, the camp was sending some of us on mission (mostly the counselor). This day, it was Charlie's turn. His mission was probably my least favorite, Chiron was sending him and Percy to go blow my brother's ship with my brother (who at the moment was possesed by supreme Lord Kronos) on it. Let say, that letting 2 of my friends blowing up my own brother wasn't my favorite part but I didn't have a choice here. 

Percy wasn't at camp at the moment, so Beckendorf had go get him during his cool little summer holiday, while I was dying from boredom and the people's look. A few hours after Charlie had gone, I heard the stupidest person yelled, my brother, Connor, Charlie and Percy were back or so I thought. 

I was one of the first camper to arrive after my brother had yelled since we were supposed to keep watching. And when I saw Percy and my brother's face, I understood a bit too fast what happened during the mission. We had lost Charlie, and somehow, my first thought wasn't for me but for the girl standing behind me. Silena, Charlie's girlfriend, my best friend. Everyone was looking at her, as she was crying; I didn't what to say, after losing Luke, I would never have imagined losing Charlie. Clarisse came out of the crowd, she looked at me and put her arm aroung Silena. As the girls left, I follow them to the big house, right now, I knew I needed to focus on Silena. We sat together, none of us wanted to speak but we needed each other; so we sat in silence until Chiron decided to reunite the war concil, usually war coucil was only for senior councelor but he let me stay for Silena and for Beckendorf.  

As expected, the council went badly. First, Clarisse totally lost her mind about a stupid story between the Ares and the Apollon. I was tempted to follow her, but Silena needed one of us, and the Ares might need a bit of a summary of what happend after Clarisse left. Secondly, we learn that there was a spy in our ranks. All the looks, went to me and my brothers and then, to Annabeth. Of course, everyone doubted in me, I was in Kronos army, so was Chris. And him and Luke were the two persons I used to be the closest with. But right now, I knew I had to support the accusatory looks on everyone face, I wanted to be there, to do justice to Beckendorf. 

Because accusing me of being the spy, was meaning that I was responsible of Charlie's death. And I swear on my own life, I would never do that; Charlie was my family after my real one left me. I cope with loosing Luke because of Charlie. 

Because even if our story ends here, I will make sure no one ever forget how he sacrified himself for all of us.
