Isla
"Xavier is mine, and he will always be mine," Rebecca said as she cornered me against the bathroom door, locking it behind her. "Ms. Ebony, I suggest you tell Isla that Xavy is mine."
I pushed her back. "Xavier is not yours. He is getting married to Isla, and there's nothing you can do to change that."
She tried to punch me, but I held her hand. "There are some things I need to get straight," I said, my voice firm. "One, Xavier is taken, so stop being obsessed. Two, I don't care what you have done before—if you touch Xavier, I won't leave you. Three, Xavier doesn't love you; you need to get that in your head."
She smirked. "So, you think you know about my past. I had to kill my Nicholas. He was being a bad boy and rejecting me. Look at me—I'm perfect. How could my guy reject me?"
"You're crazy, Rebecca. He was never yours to begin with. Chloe killed herself because of you. Chloe was my close friend. You killed her. They should've never let you out of prison."
Her smirk grew wider. "Ebony, Ebony," she sighed. "If Xavier marries Isla, he will have the same fate as Nicholas, and if anybody comes in my way, I won't hesitate to kill them."
My blood boiled hot. How could she? I punched her. "If you think of touching Xavier, I will do this more than once."
She laughed. "You don't get to say what I do to Xavier. Xavy is mine."
I punched her again. "He is not yours. Get that through your head."
She smirked at me once more. "Ebony, you're really cute. You think I'll just let him go after a few punches. Think again."
I punched her once more, harder, and knocked her out. Realizing what I had just done, I ran out of the bathroom to Xavier. "You alright?" he asked as I started hyperventilating. Everything else was a blur.
I shot up from the bed. "Isla, how are you feeling?" Xavier asked. I looked around and realized I was in a hospital.
"Am I Isla or Ebony?"
"I removed your wig, lenses, and makeup. You're Isla."
I exhaled sharply. "Where is Rebecca?" I asked.
"She's asleep. The police want to know what happened."
"Xavier, you have to believe me. She wants to kill you if you marry me. She said she'd kill me if I get in the way."
Xavier hugged me tightly. "Of course I'll believe you, Isla. I don't love her. I love you, Isla. When you were gone for seven hours, I was going mad. You've tattooed yourself on my brain and soul. I can't live without you."
I hugged him back and cried. Just then, someone barged in. "Ebony, are yo—You're not Ebony."
"Lucas Da Silva, what the heck are you doing here?" Xavier shouted.
Lucas smiled. "Ms. Frost, do you know that your fiancé is dating Ebony?"
I glared at him. "Do I look like I care?" I asked.
"You should care. After all, the guy you are marrying is entangled with another."
"Idiot," I muttered. "I am Ebony Black. Xavier will never cheat on me. Don't try to sow discord between us."
Lucas's smile faded. "Ebony? You are Ebony? How?"
"You think I like being a Frost? I didn't want my dad's name to taint my reputation. I wanted it to be self-earned. All you care about is being with me for business's sake. You are the type that'll cheat on me. Xavier likes me for me. He'd never cheat on me. Get out before I call security."
"Don't worry, Ebony. I'll leave, but I'll be back soon."
