Winter's P.O.V

Jimin had rushed out earlier and had been gone for a few minutes. I stayed in my room, picking at my food, but her sudden question occupied my mind.

Should I tell her about the machine?

What would she think of it?

Would she let me leave?

I love her—yes—but I know I would need to leave soon and go home. It's selfish, letting myself love her only to leave her, but I'm only human.

I sighed, the weight of my thoughts pressing down on me like a heavy blanket. Just then, a knock echoed through my room, pulling me out of my reverie.

"Come in," I called out.

The door creaked open, and Yi-Zhuo and Aeri walked in, their smiles lighting up the room."Hello, guys," I said, trying to mask the turmoil inside me.

"Hello, Winter," they both replied, their voices warm as they closed the door behind them.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, curiosity lacing my words.

"We wanted to talk to you about your plan with the machine now that you're back," Yi-Zhuo said, her eyes gleaming with interest.

"Oh, yeah. Well, we usually do it at night, of course."

"What about the power box?" Aeri chimed in, her expression serious.

"It's almost finished," I replied, a hint of pride in my voice. "I was even able to charge my phone."

"What's that?" Aeri asked, her eyes widening in curiosity.

"Oh, just some device," I said nonchalantly.

"Magic?" Aeri joked, and I couldn't help but smile at her playful tone.

"Not quite," I said, shaking my head. "Anyways, I'll see you both later tonight."

"Alright, see you later," they both said in unison before finally leaving.

As the door clicked shut behind them, I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. The room felt empty without their presence, and my thoughts drifted back to Jimin and the machine. The ticking clock on the wall seemed to echo my racing thoughts, each second a reminder of the limited time I had left in this world.

The weight of the decision settled heavily in my chest, a bittersweet ache that I knew only Yi-Zhuo and Aeri could truly understand. The knowledge of my impending departure was a burden I shared with them alone, a secret we guarded with silent resolve.

With a deep breath, I stood up, the resolve coursing through me like a river. Each step forward was a silent vow to make the most of the time we had. I felt the cool breeze against my skin, the rustle of leaves whispering secrets of the world around us. The sun dipped low in the sky, casting a golden hue that painted everything in a warm, melancholic glow.
