Signore got a call a week before Easter while he was in the living room and I was in the kitchen making lunch. The only words I heard were "Ciao," "No," "Siamo occupanti," and "Ci pencerò." Then he hung up and I asked if everything was okay. Based on the look he had, he was pissed but there was always room for me to be wrong. I hoped I was wrong.
He sighed. "Would you be interested going to visit my parents on Thursday, arriving Friday and coming back on Monday?"
I would be on break so school wouldn't be affected but that was Easter. It was usually family time. Jessie would be busy because he'd be with his boyfriend-not-boyfriend but still.
"Based on the fact you're pouting, I will tell them no."
He picked up his phone again. "Wait." He looked over. "I would go if it would please you, Sir." I would rather be with him than not. The holiday itself wasn't a big deal to me. Besides, if Jessie was busy I'd have to sit with my family without him to buffer all day.
"I'm more concerned about your comfort. We'll miss most of Holy Week, but we'll be there for Good Friday and we'd have to go to mass on Sunday. Monday should be nice though."
I chuckled. It would be nice because we were leaving. "I think I'll be alright, Signore."
He called back. "Mamma, ce la possiamo fare."
"Wait, your mom asked?!" I hissed. I doubted he could hear me from the distance but he probably read my lips because he nodded.
My mother was a little sad at the short notice but she was excited for me to go somewhere fun. Father told me to be safe and reminded me like he did before New York that rehab was expensive and he didn't want me to have to deal with the guilt of going through it again and making him pay for it. Nice. Mother wanted pictures while Father said to watch out for paparazzi. I wasn't particularly worried about the latter. Naples wasn't wealthy. There wouldn't be that many there.
This would be my second airborne trip as a submissive and I learned my lesson the first time around that the cage comes off before the security check. We had plenty of time though. Our first flight wasn't until evening so Signore took that and my locked cuffs off after dinner and put them in my carry on with my training and permanent collars. It was strange to be without them for that long. I didn't even take them off at the doctor. I survived though, and we landed at JFK for our layover and flight to Paris without issue.
I got a decent night's sleep on my lay-flat seat though I missed Signore being next to me. He was but there was a barrier in the way. I don't think he got any sleep. If he did, it wasn't enough, because he was cranky. It was eleven thirty in Paris, but five thirty back home and, even for him, that was early by vacation standards. The Air France lounge was a fine spot to rest though, so we sat on a couch, plugged our phones in, and sipped fully caffeinated coffee with abandon.
So far, the trip itself was going well. Given it was Holy Week, it was busy, and there was some rain, but there wasn't anything going wrong. I took my meds on time, including my upped Prozac since it helped with the anxiety, so things would get better, especially since Signore was waking up. I thought so at least. Then I glanced at the board.
AF 1278 to Naples International Airport (NAP) Now at 4:00 PM.
Signore said not to worry about it and that delays weren't that big of a deal. He just texted his father to let him know what was up since he would be waiting for us at the other airport. There wasn't much else we could do, so we grabbed something to eat and tried to be patient. Then four o'clock came and the board said five. Signore went to go ask what caused the delay since the plane should at least be trying to land.
