Contrary to what Mr.ducking, Nathan said, we weren't living a paradise in this so called famous Richard's inn.
It was hell here, starting from the very first day.
We had to read 20 similar cases before assisting ms.mia for her trial and we got informed about it just this morning.
"Why didn't they tell us earlier about this?" I said in annoyance.
"They did ." The girl next to me chuckled
"Excuse me?" I spoke in bewilderment.
"They emailed us all yesterday." She continued.
"I...i didn't get any email....I only got it sent now." I said.
Slowly, I was starting to realise who might've been behind this. Obviously, mr.nathan. who else?
"Umm..that's hard to believe." She looked at me, top to bottom and looked away.
I clenched my phone hardly.
This man. He's getting on my nerves just on the freaking second day here.
Anyhow. As we reached the trial. The atmosphere was thick.
A man was accused of raping and murdering his seven year old daughter and Mia was going to be fighting his case.
If I was her place, I would've never done that. How can she even sit next to someone who raped his own daughter, although not proved but there must've been some traits about him that led to the suspicion right?
I looked at the supposed wife of the accused, sitting in the corresponding cubicle. She looked so worn out. She looked like she lost everything in this world that was once hers and now everything is just foreign. Only her soul is wandering.
.
.Mia was winning the case and I couldn't see that. I couldn't see the mother crying in agony for her daughter.
I excused myself and exited the courtroom. I had my eyes closed, taking deep breaths in but then I felt a pat on my shoulders.
I looked up and it was that champanzee again.
"Why are you out?" He asked coldly.
Is he always this attentive to his trainees or is he just hell bent on making me quit?
"I-i...just needed some fresh air." I replied and looked away. Why did I stutter, I don't know.
He scoffed.
"Do you think, you'll still be here after six months with this attitude?" He asked.
"Attitude? I don't have an attitude, sir." I replied.
"Oh really? Then why are you talking back?" He asked.
"Because I supposedly have a tongue?" I replied with a sigh.
His eyes glared my soul as I said that..
"Keep this tongue shut before I teach you who I am." He said with his teeth gritting against eachother.
Not gonna lie, I was intimidated. He is scary, to be honest.
"I-i...will go back.' I said in defeat and walked back without looking at him again.
I didn't talk to him again. For the next two months.
But then I had to.
.
.Third person POV
It was raining badly in the city. There was even a hailstorm warning given.
Mia was standing Infront of the office's thick glass doors, rethinking about all life choices.
