Alaya's POV.

I was peacefully eating my lunch with my parents when suddenly my phone dinged with a message.

It was ambrian.

He's texting me alot these days.

I wonder what's up with him?

Hi. Alaya.

I left my forkm and decided to reply. He's a good guy. I don't think it's a bad idea to make a new friend. Just hope that he's not another Alex.

Hi, ambrian.

"Who's it?" Jake asked.

I looked up.

"Colleague." I replied. He raised his eyebrows.

"Oh..by colleague, I remembered... Alaya sweetheart." Mom called me.

"Yes?" I replied with a faint smile.

"I met Mrs. Roberts the other day. You know what?" She spoke with excitement.

"What?" I replied in disinterest. Her mrs.roberts aka the most judgmental person I've ever met, is her most favourite topic.

"She's in the same cooking class as me." Mom squealed.

I looked at Jake and we both rolled our eyes.

Mom will never learn.

"And contrary to what I thought, she's actually quite nice." Mom said.

"Oh please, mom!" I exclaimed in disgust.

"She's the most judgemental person I've come across. Still can't forget how she had the audacity to call me a noob at fashion." I said and poked my fork in my pasta hardly.

Jake chuckled and so did dad.

I'm dramatic. I know.

Then, my phone started ringing.

"Who's it?" Dad asked while taking a bite.

I sighed and looked at the caller. It was ambrian. He's calling me for the first time, so I think he has a good topic to discuss?

He spills nice tea actually. He knows about all the latest gossip in the office.

"The colleague from earlier....excuse me.ill be back." I said and walked out.

"Hello?" I spoke.

"Uh..hi Alaya." Ambrian replied.

"How are you?" I asked as I had absolutely nothing else to discuss.

"Fine. What about you?" He replied.

"Good." I spoke and played with the roses in our garden.

"Soooo. What's new?" I asked.

He sighed.

"You know boss is coming back tommorow to office." He said.

My heart skipped a beat as I heard him.

Nathan. I've not heard of him since the last week, ever since he fainted in the office.

"Uh...he's okay now?'' I asked while fidgeting with my fingers.

"Yeah. I guess so." He replied.

I hope he's alright.

I thought in my mind.

The mind he has occupied all to himself. No matter how hard I try, he refuses to leave my thoughts.

His charming personality, chaste demeanor, and masculine nature are incredibly captivating. He has occupied my mind, and I am powerless to evict him. His charming presence lingers, refusing to depart, and his chaste and masculine qualities exert a magnetic pull that draws me in.
