Kara soared through the skies alongside Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Their mission was clear: to investigate an unusual energy signature detected in the Arctic. The League had decided it was a perfect opportunity for Kara to gain more experience in the field.
“Stay close and keep your eyes open,” Wonder Woman instructed. “This energy reading is off the charts, and we don’t know what we’re dealing with yet.”
Kara nodded, her determination evident. “Got it. I’ll follow your lead.”
Meanwhile, in Metropolis, Cal was patrolling the city, scanning for any signs of trouble. As he flew over the bustling streets, he noticed a sudden commotion near LexCorp Tower. A loud explosion rocked the area, sending plumes of smoke into the air. Without hesitation, Cal sped towards the source of the disturbance.
Landing in the midst of the chaos, Cal was met by a barrage of laser fire from Lex Luthor’s henchmen. He deflected the shots effortlessly, but before he could retaliate, a powerful force struck him from behind, sending him crashing into the ground.
“Welcome, Nighman,” a familiar voice taunted. “I’ve been waiting for this moment.”
Cal looked up to see Lex Luthor standing atop a hovering platform, flanked by his armored henchmen and Tarra-Man, who had a menacing grin on his face.
“Luthor,” Cal growled, his eyes narrowing. “What are you planning?”
“Just a little experiment,” Lex replied, a sinister smile playing on his lips. “And you’re the perfect test subject.”
Before Cal could react, Tarra-Man charged at him, delivering a series of brutal blows. Cal fought back valiantly, but the combined assault of Lex’s advanced technology and Tarra-Man’s brute strength was overwhelming. Despite his best efforts, Cal was eventually subdued, his body battered and bruised.
“Take him to the extraction chamber,” Lex ordered. “I want every ounce of data we can get from him.”
Cal was shackled and transported to LexCorp, where he was placed in a high-tech machine designed to scan and analyze his unique physiology. Lex watched intently as the device whirred to life, streams of data pouring onto the screens surrounding them.
“Fascinating,” Lex murmured, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. “His genetic makeup is extraordinary. If I can harness this...”
As the machine continued its work, Cal struggled against his restraints, his mind racing with thoughts of escape. He knew he had to find a way out before Lex could exploit his powers for nefarious purposes.
Back in the Arctic, Kara and the Justice League discovered a hidden bunker emanating the strange energy signature. Inside, they found a mysterious device of alien origin, pulsating with an eerie glow.
“This doesn’t look like anything I’ve seen before,” Green Lantern remarked, examining the device closely.
“It’s definitely not from Earth,” The Flash added. “We need to figure out what it’s for and if it’s dangerous.”
Wonder Woman turned to Kara. “Kara, can you sense anything unusual about this device?”
Kara focused her mind, reaching out with her newfound abilities. “It’s... it’s some kind of beacon. But I can’t tell what it’s signaling.”
Before they could investigate further, an urgent message came through Wonder Woman’s communicator. “Diana, we have a situation in Metropolis. Nighman has been captured by Lex Luthor.”
Kara’s heart skipped a beat. “We need to go back. Now.”
The League quickly regrouped and set off for Metropolis, their concern for Cal driving them forward. As they approached the city, they saw the damage caused by Lex’s ambush and knew they had to act fast.
