Kara stepped into the portal leading to the Phantom Zone, bracing herself for the disorienting shift that accompanied the transition. The moment she crossed the threshold, a wave of cold dread washed over her. The Phantom Zone was a place of exile and punishment, filled with the most dangerous Kryptonian criminals, all stripped of their powers but not their cunning.

As her surroundings solidified into a bleak, monochromatic landscape, she felt an unsettling sense of vulnerability. Without her powers, she was just another prisoner here, at the mercy of the malevolent inhabitants. She clutched the shard of kryptonite tightly, determined to complete her mission and save Cal.

Kara moved cautiously, aware that General Zod and his followers could be lurking anywhere. The desolate terrain offered little cover, but she found herself gravitating towards the shadows, hoping to remain unnoticed. Her heart pounded as she heard distant voices—rough, authoritative, and familiar. Zod's soldiers were near.

She ducked behind a jagged rock formation, holding her breath as the voices grew louder. The conversation was heated, filled with talk of conquest and revenge. Kara's stomach churned. If they found her, there would be no escape.

Hours seemed to stretch into days as Kara navigated the perilous landscape, constantly on the lookout for signs of pursuit. She knew she had to keep moving, but fatigue was setting in. The Phantom Zone's oppressive atmosphere weighed heavily on her, both physically and mentally.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Metropolis was in chaos. Amazo, the android with the combined powers of the Justice League, was wreaking havoc across the city. The League fought valiantly, but they were outmatched. Superwoman's strength, Wonder Woman's combat skills, Flash's speed—all were mirrored and magnified in Amazo.

Buildings crumbled under the onslaught, and the streets were littered with debris. The citizens of Metropolis fled in terror, their city transformed into a war zone. Batman coordinated the defense efforts from the Batcave, his keen mind working tirelessly to find a weakness in Amazo.

"Amazo is replicating our powers too perfectly," Batman muttered to himself. "We need to think outside the box."

Wonder Woman, bloodied but unbowed, landed next to Batman. "We can't keep this up much longer, Bruce. We need a plan."

"I'm working on it," Batman replied, his voice grim. "We need to buy time until Kara returns. She's our best hope."

Back in the Phantom Zone, Kara found a small cave that offered temporary refuge. She collapsed against the cold stone wall, exhaustion threatening to overtake her. But she couldn't afford to rest for long. The kryptonite was slowly changing, its green hue fading into a metallic sheen.

Suddenly, the silence was shattered by the sound of footsteps. Kara's heart leapt into her throat as she peered out of the cave. A group of Zod's soldiers was patrolling nearby, their eyes scanning the terrain with predatory intent.

She pressed herself deeper into the shadows, praying they wouldn't find her. The minutes dragged by painfully, each second an eternity. Finally, the soldiers moved on, their footsteps fading into the distance.

Kara let out a shaky breath, relief washing over her. She glanced at the kryptonite. It was almost fully transformed. Just a little longer, she told herself.

In Metropolis, the battle raged on. Amazo's relentless assault left the Justice League battered and desperate. Shazam, his face set in grim determination, flew at Amazo with all his remaining strength, only to be swatted aside like a fly.

"Is this all the great Justice League has to offer?" Amazo taunted, his voice a chilling blend of synthesized arrogance and malice.

Batman gritted his teeth, his mind racing. "We need to regroup," he called out to his teammates. "Fall back to the watchtower!"
