Rin x Isagi (Part 1)

Isagi and Rin were considered the power couple in school, they were perfect for each other, well that was what other people thought. Underneath that perfect couple act that they put on, hid their true selves. None of them were what they seemed. They fought endlessly, day and night. They hurled insults at one another. The fighting never stopped. But under a mutual agreement, they continued to act as the perfect couple. Feeding each other food, despite wanting to poison it. Holding hands with each other, despite both wanting to stab each other. And going on scenic dates, despite wanting to strangle one another. In this kind of scenario, whoever falls in love first, loses. Rin Itoshi, the prideful younger brother of Sae Itoshi, would never allow him to be the first one to bare their heart, essentially breaking their contract. But he couldn't help it, even though it was all fake, just to help Isagi make Bachira jealous, to be the wingman to get them together, but why is it that whenever Isagi smiles up at him or holds his hand, his heart beats faster and he has to turn away, to hide his blush? Was he sick, or was he...in love?

No. That's impossible. There was no way. No way the headstrong, proud Itoshi Rin would ever, ever fall in love. Much less with someone like Isagi Yoichi. But what could he do? What can he do when even a single touch or look from Isagi sends his heart bursting with butterflies. He had never felt this way before, not with any of his exes. His ex, Shidou Ryusei, had made him feel something, but it wasn't butterflies or anything romantic, it was rage. At least now, Shidou was with Sae and he didn't have to deal with that annoying cockroach again. He didn't know what to do. He had never experienced something like this before.
Despite his overflowing emotions and feelings towards the blue-haired male. He knew that Isagi's heart did not belong to him. it had been stolen by someone, someone named Bachira Meguru.
"Hey..." Rin was startled by the voice appearing above him. He had just finished soccer practice and was waiting for Sae and Shidou to be done with their date, so they could pick him up. He looked up and was met with Isagi standing above him, fiddling nervously with his hands, gently biting his lip.
"What." He coldly replied, taking a sip from his water bottle, waiting for isagi to say something.
"So...I was wondering if...you...how do I phrase this...are you gay?" Isagi stuttered over his words.
Rin spit out his drink.
"WHAT?" He said the same thing, this time with a different tone.
Seeing his reaction, Isagi was quick to explain. He has had a long term crush on another player from their soccer team. Bachira Meguru. But he had no idea how to win his heart. So with no other ideas, one of his close friends, as well as another player, suggested for him to fake date another guy, just to see if Bachira was gay and to see if he would get jealous.
Rin originally wanted to decline, he shook his head. But when he saw Isagi's face fall, for some reason, he couldn't decline. He hated seeing Isagi sad, especially when he was the reason for it.
He couldn't explain this feeling. It wasn't love...right? Maybe it was... With no Idea what else to do, Rin decided to push aside his pride and ask someone he knew was in a healthy relationship. His elder brother, Itoshi Sae. So, that day, after Rin and Isagi's date at a nearby cafe, He went over to the apartment Sae and Shidou shared. As he knocked on the door, he wished Shidou wasn't home at that moment. Rin knew that if Shidou heard that Rin had come for love advice, he would never hear the end of it.
The door opened, and there stood Sae. Despite the problems they had after Sae came back from Spain, they had made up and their relationship was fairly normal now. Rin walked in without even a simple greeting and sat on the couch, rehearsing in his head how he would ask Sae. Sae, sensing Rin's discomfort, handed him a cup of tea and sat down opposite of him.
" Shidou isn't here, talk all you want."
Hearing this, Rin relaxed and spilled out everything.
"I see." Was all Sae replied. After hearing Rin's problem, there was honestly nothing he could help with, but to give Rin advice.
(INSERT AMAZING ADVICE HERE or use mine idk 😐) "Dumbass imagine falling in love with someone who doesn't and has never considered liking you." Rin rolled his eyes, maybe coming here was a bad decision.
"But, just be yourself. If he doesn't like you back, you're just not meant to be. I mean, there's more fish in the sea, it doesn't have to be him." Sae quickly said, shrugging his shoulders as he spoke. (My advice is amazing 🤩)
Maybe Sae was useful after all, Rin thought to himself as he left Sae's house quickly, Shidou had come home at that very moment and Rin did not want to interact with that thing.
