Ness stared at the sight before him. Kaiser and Isagi. Together. After practice. They looked happy. They were happy. Together.
It seemed like Ness just wasn't important anymore.
Gone were the days where Kaiser and Ness were inseparable. Gone were the days where Ness would dye and cut Kaiser's hair whenever he wanted to change his style on whim. Gone were the days where they would spend all night watching soccer matches and sleeping late. Gone were the days where they would show up late to practice and get scolded by the coach. They were gone. All because of Blue Lock. Because of Ego. Because of Isagi.

A tear slowly ran down his cheek

“Ness. I'm done.” Kaiser said, as he walked over and swung an arm around Ness's shoulder.

That's when I nearly said it
But then said "Forget it" and froze

Ness hid his tears and smiled (:>), not wanting to let Kaiser see his vulnerable side.
As they walked through the halls of Blue Lock together, Ness admired Kaiser’s side profile. He couldn't deny that Kaiser was attractive, probably one of the most good-looking people he's seen in his lifetime, and he's seen a lot of people.
“If you wanna stare, take a picture instead, Mein süßes kleines Haustier” Kaiser smirked, leaning in closer to Ness.

Ness blushed furiously. Despite how much Kaiser flirted with him, Ness knew it was just a joke. Kaiser's personality was naturally flirty, he flirts with everyone and Ness knew he never was actually flirting with someone with the intention of a relationship. It was just a joke. But, if it was just a joke, why does Ness feel this indescribable feeling in his chest whenever he sees Kaiser flirting with someone else? The feeling, Ness didn't like it. Especially when the other person was Isagi.

Yesterday, drank way too much
And stayed up too late

Without realising, they had reached their shared dorm. Kaiser opened the door and made a beeline for the mini fridge inside the room. He opened it, taking out a can of beer, popping open the tab, he gulped half of it down before offering the other half to Ness. Motioning for him to take it.

Started to write what I wanna say

Deciding to be more confident, Ness ignored Kaiser’s outstretched hand and instead, grabbed a can from the fridge himself.
Kaiser watched him down the whole can with an unrecognisable look on his face.
Ness watched Kaiser from the corner of his eye, wondering what he was thinking, what he would do next.
It surprised Ness when Kaiser burst out laughing.
“ I did not think you had that in you, Süße.” Kaiser said between bursts of laughter. Ness flushed red, he felt comfortable like this, with Kaiser. He could remain like this forever, but he wanted more. He wanted all of Kaiser's attention, only Kaiser, no one else's. No one else.

A few hours later

Ness sat at the edge of his bed, watching Kaiser gently snore beside him. They had drunk quite a lot, mostly Kaiser, Ness was still somewhat sober. But the alcohol must have gotten into him too as the next thing he did was not quite like him.

Deleted the message, but I still remember it said

Ness leaned back, realising what he had just done.

Standing up, he quickly left the room. Leaving an asleep Kaiser, unaware of what his best friend had just done.

And you can't fall asleep

Ness leaned over the sink, gasping heavily. Splashing cold water onto his red face, he took a deep breath.
What had he just done? He kissed his best friend…his childhood best friend…Kaiser.

Waiting for me to reply

Hearing Ness leave the room. Kaiser sat up, holding a hand over his mouth to hide his face, which had an unreadable expression. He had not actually fallen asleep, he was just pretending. He had been awake the whole time.

I wish I was more than just someone you walk by

He heard footsteps outside the room.

Wish I wasn't scared to be honest and open

He quickly pulled a blanket over himself, pretending he was still asleep.

Instead of just hoping

He heard the door open and close. And the bed sinking beside him.
Silence.
The room was quiet except for Ness's heavy breathing and Kaiser's soft breathes as he pretended to be fast asleep, wanting to see what Ness would do.

You'd feel what I'm feeling inside

Ness took a deep breath, and said something that would forever change their friendship.
