A Devotee of His Land

Oh, snap! The skies are glittered with reddish powder,
As brusque thud of whistling shuttlecock flies over;
Witness the solid habitats turn into a ground pepper.

Oh, boom and snap!
Come down and bend a little lower!
That length and force is for men to shudder.
And thy neighbor will either lend a hand or prick a finger,
But must the son's breath and dignity be an offer?

Kaboom!

Kaboom!

Kaboom!

Broken pieces are swiftly carried by the wind; reflecting in one's eye,
Innocents might think that debris is like a party popper popping in the sky.
For the first time, the soil has shed tears to moisten the dry;
For the longest time, the soil has sweat bullets and cried in lime.
Thus, thy son bleeds as he steps on the deathly line;
And for once, the soil has to taste the flesh of its own child with no life.

The day and the night do not look any different,
As the sun rises, it awakens the monster inside them;
And by the night, the moon and stars will dampen.
The owls will see thousands of ships, surrounding the territory of the weak;
Then gigantic tanks will emit fireballs like a freak!
Causing the joyful land of men to become bleak,
And the practice of liberty will no longer be sleek.
Since then, the day and night did not look any different.

A son's devotion to his land is as vivid as his will;
His fondness for the future is what keeps him fighting still.
The son's loyalty to his land is much stronger than any forces;
His aims shall amplify his fellows' voices.

Even when everything becomes ash and dust,
The son will snuggle his way for all to be right and just.
If the men, the son, and the innocent have to offer themselves, then so be it.
If this will free thy beloved land from avarice, honor be theirs for doing it.

P.S.
This poem was inspired by the unfortunate war that happened between Ukraine and Russia. I don't know why but it's an emotional and dark year since it was also a pandemic period. I wrote this for our Creative Writing subject in grade 11. Peace for the whole world!
