"How is Murphy gonna bring the power back? She's a psychiatrist."

You offered to take the couch but Julian refused to let you. Giving him an alarm clock he turns it to wake him up for work. Staring up at the ceiling he doesn't manage to fall asleep, after trying for a while he stands up and walks around to see if it helps. Looking around he sees the frame on a shelf with a picture of the two of you, smiling and laughing, holding each other. The Photo Booth prints from your first date, tucked into the frame.

He looks at it for a long moment. Thinking about how scared he was today, when he almost couldn't save you. He missed you too, he didn't want to be like this. Confrontation and big talks has always scared him, from previous experiences they haven't ended well for him.

Walking further down the hall he gets to your bedroom door, finding it to be open. He looks inside and watch you sleep for a few minutes, leaning on the door frame. Then Julian hears people shouting and glass breaking in the distance, going to the window he sees the neighbours outside. Going back to the couch, he tries sitting, then breathe deeply in and out slowly.

"I don't know how you sleep like that?" You tell him, leaning on the wall, looking at him.

"I'm not sleeping. I'm trying to mediate." He doesn't open his eyes.

"Does it help?"

"I emphasise the word 'trying', so, I don't know." He says and opening his eyes, he sees you yawning. "Did the neighbours wake you?"

"Yeah." You say, walking up to the window, looking at the neighbours, not bothering to overthink what they're doing outside at the middle of the night.

Then you look up.

"Look at all the shooting stars." You say pointing.

He stands up, moving to stand beside you looking up. Then he frowns, confused.

"Those are satellites, Yn." He tells you.

You watch the satellites.

"I'm gonna head to work." Julian then says. "You should get some more sleep."

Sitting at a chair you watch him go to leave. He stops just before grabs the handle and you sit up straight in the chair expectingly.

"Could I borrow your bike? Unless you're going to use it."

"No, no. Go ahead." You nod reassuringly and he forces a smile with a nod. Watching him leave and shut the door after him you sigh leaning back in your chair, before going to get some more sleep before the sun comes up.

...

Julian rides your bike through the town and sees multiple people out and about in the middle of the night. Getting to the university there is a party going on outside, he walks through, people bumping into him as they dance. Then Gregg show up in front of him.

"Hey, I need more stuff." He tells him taking a hold of him excitedly.

"Relax, okay?" He pushes him off, looking around at all the students and people.

"Downers, benzos, phennies, toois, red jackets, people are crazy right now, amped up. That shit'll be, like, gold. I'll double the price." Gregg says and Julian whips his head to him. "No, shit, I didn't say that."

"Yeah, you did."

"Alright. I'll do it. Gregg's a man of his word, alright? Cash in, cash out. Cycle of life. I'll double the price on all types of zombie pills."

"Okay." He says and goes to the college building.

...

"Anghel?" He asks for his colleague. Finding no one, he gets the keys to the cabinets he's going for.
