Children of the Future

Chapter 14

We're in Liyue now! Having been through this once before, Aether knows exactly what to do this time around.

Last time, Aether took a step towards Liyue Harbor, his body resonating with geo now that he was in Liyue. 

He folded his arms and closed his eyes as he prepared his burst, "I will have offspring."

Out of the sky came a meteorite made of children that fell to the ground and-

"That is NOT what happened and you know it!!" Aether yelled.

You're no fun...

What actually happened was the kids fell from the sky and landed on top of the blonde traveler.

And now...

The children got off of him and jumped for joy at seeing a familiar face. At least, the little ones did. There were two that looked to be a bit older than the rest of them. In total, there were ten of them. 

Aether looked and shook his head at the headache that just fell on top of them. 

"Hold on, something isn't right here," one of the older kids spoke.

"Big bro, Shitou? What's the matter?" one of the younger kids asked him.

"It's Father. His outfit isn't right. It's what he wore during his travels but he always made sure to change to be more local in whatever nation he's in."

"I did?" Aether wondered aloud.

"Strange. What could be going on?"

Aether decided it was his time to step in, "I think I can guess how you all got here. You were exploring a new domain together."

The oldest boy nodded, "Yes. How did you know that?"

"Then, you came across a strange door with a mechanism to open it," he continued.

One of the little girls nodded with a smile, "Yeah and then-"

"And then one of you activated it and the door sucked you all in before you found yourselves here," Aether finished it for her.

The kids clapped in awe at their Father being able to piece the entire story together despite not being there for it.

"You're amazing, Papa!! You knew what happened even though you weren't there!!"

Aether smiled awkwardly, "More like I've been through this once before already."

The older boy, Shitou walked up to him, "If you know so much then would you be able to fill us in on what exactly happened to us?"

"Okay," Aether nodded and explained the whole story to them. All the kids were shocked to hear of their predicament.

"You mean we're stuck in the past?!"

Paimon nodded, "Yup! The Traveler here came to Liyue to try and help find a way to send your siblings back but then you all came."

"I see. It's rather unfortunate that my siblings from Inazuma suffered the same fate. Still, thank you for doing all you can for us, Father," he bowed to Aether.

"Uh, no need to be so formal. What kind of Dad would I be if I couldn't do this much?" He had to admit, Aether had a fair point.

"So, Aether, what's the plan now?" Paimon asked.

"You'd be surprised but not much has really changed. I'm still planning to visit Ningguang and ask her arrange a meeting place for everyone. Better we're all there to catch up and see if they can help us."
