"Beta utho, aapka trainer aaya hai", amma said, pulling the sheets off me, making me groan and look at her with half-closed eyes.

"Neend aa rahi hai, amma. Sone de", I replied, pulling the sheets closer to my body.

"Nahi beta, woh neeche hai. Baba intezaar kar rahe hai aapka", amma said as she sat on the bed beside me, caressing my hair.

"Ughh!", I groaned, stretching my arms and fully opening my eyes to look at her. Amma was a short woman, even shorter than me, with grey-black hair, a wrinkled face, and warm brown eyes that always looked at me with love.

"Utho aur neeche aao jaldi", amma said, pecking my head before she left the room and closed the door behind her. I put my feet down, got up from the bed, and entered the bathroom to do my morning routine. I brushed my teeth, took a warm shower, walked into my walk-in closet, and grabbed a pair of black loose pants, a white long-sleeve t-shirt, and a black hijab. I removed the towel, put on my undergarments, then my clothes, and finally wore my hijab before heading downstairs.

I head downstairs and see baba and a man standing with his back to me, talking to each other. I walk towards them and clear my throat, prompting both of them to stop speaking and face me.

"Assalamualaikum baba", I greet, looking up at him.

"Walaikumassalam, chanda", baba said, coming towards me. He pecked my head and continued, "meet Alexander, your trainer". This made me raise my head and look at the man. His eyes were dark like midnight, and he had broad shoulders and shoulder-length black hair tied in a man bun. He had a chiseled jaw and a light beard, he was wearing a black tank top and black shorts.

"Hello, nice to meet you", he said, extending his hand for a shake. I looked at his hand but didn't return the gesture. Instead, I offered him a small smile and replied, 'hello'.

"Umm, baba, can we talk in private?", I asked, glancing around nervously.

"Sure, let's go", baba replied, as he took my hand, leading us into the living room. I turned my head to see Amma chitchatting with that Alex guy.

"I know what you are going to say. He's here with his wife. Don't worry; he's not here to teach you and he's your new body guard", baba said, making me look at him.

"Baba, I already have a body guard. I don't want a new addition", I protested.

"I fired your old body guard. He wasn't capable of protecting you like Alex can. Alex is an ex-army officer, and I've heard he's really good at what he does", baba explained with a friendly smile, but I didn't return it.

"But bab---, "No buts. Just go and offer your namaz until his wife arrives", baba said, patting my shoulder as he left the room. I stood there biting my nails.

I have a terrible habit of biting nails whenever I'm nervous or scared. Right now, I'm scared, though I'm not entirely sure why.

I stepped out of the living room and saw Alex talking on the phone. He mentioned that he is here and Miss Heer is talking to her father. What is he talking about, and why is he discussing me with someone on the phone?

I took slow steps and stood behind him. He instantly turned his head towards me, causing me to chuckle in embarrassment.

"Can I help you, Miss Heer?", he asked, still holding his phone to his ear.

"You were discussing me on the phone", I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Yeah, that was wife. She is on her way", he explained, looking me in the eye.

"Ohh, okay", I replied, slapping my forehead while shaking my head. I made my upstairs to my room, entered the bathroom, performed my ablution, washing my hands, mouth, nose, face, arms, head, ears and feet. With my body and mind refreshed, I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed the prayer mat from top shelf. Standing straight on the prayer mat I face the Qibla and raise my hands saying, "Allahu akbar", signalling the start of my prayer.

❤❤❤❤❤

"Ughhh, every part of my body is aching, ahhh", I groan as i lay my head on the bench, glancing at Rida, who was occupied with her phone.

"Are you on your periods?", she asked out of nowhere.

"No, baba hired a trainer for self defence, and the woman really put me through my paces----even on the first day", I replied, a pout forming on my lips.

"Oh wow, so our Heer is learning self defence now? That's nice", Rida said with a smile as she set her phone aside.

Rida is a beautiful hijabi girl; in fact all my friends are hijabis. She is the daughter of my father's friend, and now she is my friend. We are a group of four girls who have been together since kindergarten.

"Woh armaan university aa rahe hai mujhe pick karne", Rida said with a shy smile on her face.

"Woaah, Rida bibi is blushing, huh?", I teased, pulling her cheeks playfully.

"Tang no karo", she said, slapping my hand away.

"Haan haan, ab hamara baat karna bhi tumhe tang karna hi lagega", I said, twisting my mouth towards her.

"Aisa nahi---aisa hi hai, madam", Ayesha said coming from behind.

"Mujhe tang na karo, warna main chali jaungi", she threatened, standing up from the bench and grabbing her backpack.

"Itni jaldi? Ek hafte baad toh jaane wali ho, baith jao hamare saath bhi", I said winking at Ayesha.

"Haan, kyun? Raha nahi jata, ek hafta hai bas, bardasht karlo", Arfa said, waking up from her sleep, making us all giggle.

"Kumbhkaran ki tarah sote rehti hai yeh ladki", I mumbled.

"Haan, sahi kaha", Ayesha said giggling while slapping my back.

These girls are really weird. Rida always blushes, Ayesha has a habit of slapping while laughing like a hyena, and Arfa can sleep anywhere--- even while standing.

I'm perfect; I don't blush at all. I don't understand why people blush. I don't laugh like a hyena; l laugh like a normal, beautiful girl. I also love sleeping, but before falling asleep, we should take note of our surroundings. Falling asleep anywhere is ridiculous, but what can I do? They are best friends; I can't live without them.

"Armaan is here, main ja rahi hu", Rida said as she hung her backpack on her right shoulder and left the class, making us stand up from the bench and follow her.

Our class has ended fifteen minutes ago; we were just sitting in class, chitchatting.

Four of us walked out of the university hand in hand and stood near the gate. I saw a black range rover in front of the gate with Armaan bhai and another man sitting on the hood of the car, their backs facing us.

"Chale Allah hafiz, kal milte hai", I said as I hugged the girls. Walking towards my car, I turned back to see them waving at me. I waved back before sitting in the car. Alex started the car, and we drove off.

Why do I feel Alex spoke with Armaan bhai at the university? What were they talking? Do they know each other? If so, how?
