"Chalo yaar late ho raha hai", Ayesha said, slapping my back and making me glare at her.

"Sabr kar, pagal ladki", I replied smacking her arm.

"Tumhe pata toh hai ke main kitni besabr insan hun, toh hamesha kyu kehti ho ke sabr karo?", she asked as she popped her chewing gum.

"Taki tum sabr karna seekh lo, lekin tauba tum itni deeth ho ke samajhti hi nahi", Rida replied, coming from behind and standing in front of the kitcgen counter.

Today is Sunday, so there's no university. We girls decided to visit the mall and buy dresses for Rida's nikah.

"Umm, Heer bibi bade saab raat se ghar nahi aaye hai", shaheen baji said, making me raise my brow at her.

"Haan, unhone call kar ke inform kiya tha ke office mein koi emergency aagayi hai, aur woh ghar nahi aayenge", I replied, taking a bite of my chicken sandwich.

"Kya main unke liye tiffin bandh doon?", she asked as she passed a sandwich to Arfa, who had her head resting on the counter.

Don't tell me this girl has fallen asleep again.

"Thik hai bandh de", I replied to shaheen baji, smacking Arfa on the head to wake her up.

"Kya hai yaar, sone de mujhe", she groaned.

"Nahi bibi uthe, humein mall jana hai. Apna sandwich jaldi se finish kare, uthe", Rida said, sprinkling some water on Arfa's face, making her stand up instantly from the chair.

"Rida ki bacchi, tu ab bach kar dikha mere haathon se", Arfa said as she stood, grabbed the water bottle from the counter and chased after Rida, who was standing behind shaheen baji.

"Ha! Tum mujhe pakad nahi paogi", Rida exclaimed, sticking her tongue out at Arfa. She then grabbed a water bottle and playfully splashed water at her.

"Churail tu toh gayi", Arfa retorted, walking towards shaheen baji. She mischiveously pulled Rida's hand and poured water over her head, drenching her from head to toe.

"Kya to raha hai yahan", Amma's voice made me avert my gaze from the girls to her. I stood up from the chair and walked towards her.

"Ab aapki tabiyat kaisi hai?", I asked, placing my hand on her forehead to check if she had any temperature, but thank god it was normal.

"Alhamdulillah, beti ab main thik hu", Amma said, pecking my head.

"Shukar hai, chale nashta kar lein", I said as I grabbed her hand, helped her sit on the chair, and passed the roti that shaheen baji made for her.

Amma doesn't eat sandwiches; she prefers simple desi food like dal chawal, achar, papad, roti, and bhindi.

"Rida, Arfa aao tum dono bhi nashta kar lo", Amma said, patting the chairs next to her.
