I woke up feeling groggy, rubbing my temples as a headache throbbed. My eyes felt heavy, and I blinked quickly to try to wake up. Sitting up straight, I yawned and threw off my sheets.

Standing up, I scratched my head and glanced at the wall clock---it was around 10 a.m. I quickly walked to my closet, grabbed a maroon frock with beautiful thread and stone work, and tossed it onto the bed.

I rushed into the shower and quickly removed my clothes. I grabbed the shampoo bottle from the top shelf, poured some into my hand, and applied it to my scalp. As I washed my hair, I used loofah to scrub my body. A soft whimper escaped my lips as the scrubbing made my neck sting. Then I realized it wasn't a dream---he had really been in my room and saw me without hijab. Tears formed in my eyes at the thought.

Why is he treating me like this?

What did I do to deserve it?

Why can't he just leave me alone?

The water from the shower cleaned away my tears, but it couldn't remove the pain and fear in my heart. I closed my eyes, took a deep breathe, and washed my body before wrapping a towel around myself.

As I stepped out, I remembered how I slammed the mug and threatened him. And how he taunted me to slit his throat and even licked his own blood from the glass with a sinister smile. The sight shocked me so much that I fainted. After that, I lost track of what happened. Did he take advantage of me while I was unconscious? The thought made me furious and overwhelmed with anger.

"I wish he would just dies", I muttered as I walked into the closet. I tossed my clothes onto the table, grabbed my undergarments, and took off the towel. Quickly, I put on garments, my red frock and stepped out of the closet while patting my face dry with the towel. I rushed to the mirror, opened the drawer, and pulled out my hair dryer to dry my hair. Once it was dry, I put it up in a bun.

I took a matching hijab from the small cupboard next to the dressing table and put it on. After applying lip balm and some eyeliner, I walked over to the bed to put on my golden louboutin heels. I bought them when I went to the mall with girls. I just hoped I wouldn't trip and fall, as that would be really embarrassing. Stepping back, I admired my outfit in the mirror and struck a few poses.

I looked beautiful with my natural look and no heavy make up on. After a quick glance in the mirror, I picked up my phone from the bed and left the room. I rushed down the stairs, holding my phone tightly in my right hand. When I opened it, I saw that it only had 35% battery left since I had forgotten to charge it overnight. I hoped it would last for the day.

As I reached the last stair, I heard voices coming from the kitchen. Curious, I walked in and saw Amma Shaheen baji, and some other maids deep in conversation.

"Assalamualaikum", I greeted, steeping further inside. I opened the fridge, took out a water bottle, and had a sip. When I looked back, everyone was staring at me. I raised an eyebrow and asked politely, "kya hua?".
