•Angelines POV•
I woke up the next morning alone in bed, the absence of Eli's warmth next to me a stark reminder of the night before. As I stretched and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, I could hear the faint sound of pots and pans clanging downstairs. My heart skipped a beat as I remembered that Eli had stayed over. A smile spread across my face as I threw on a robe and headed down the stairs.
When I entered the kitchen, the delicious aroma of pancakes and bacon greeted me. Eli was standing by the stove, flipping pancakes with a focused look on his face. His concentration was interrupted as soon as he heard me enter. He turned around, his face breaking into a wide grin.
"Morning, beautiful," he said, walking over to me and wrapping me in a warm embrace. He kissed me gently on the lips and pulled me into a hug. "I thought I'd make you breakfast. Figured you could use a little cheering up after last night."
I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me. "Thank you, Eli. I don't know what I'd do without you."
He chuckled softly. "Well, you're stuck with me for now. I'm just glad I can do something to make you smile."
We settled at the kitchen table, and Eli set down a plate of perfectly golden pancakes and crispy bacon in front of me. He poured us both glasses of orange juice and sat down across from me.
As we dug into breakfast, the conversation drifted naturally. "So," Eli began, his eyes twinkling with excitement, "I've been thinking. How about we write a song together? Something that really captures how we feel."
I looked up; my interest piqued. "That sounds amazing! I actually have some ideas that I've been thinking over for a song about you. I think we could come up with something really good."
Eli's grin widened. "Awesome! I was thinking we could make it a love song. Maybe have Dani help us with the drums and some of the writing. She's got a knack for that kind of thing."
"That sounds perfect," I agreed. "I'd love to have Dani involved. She's really talented, and I think it would be great to have her input."
After breakfast, we headed to the studio. Dani was already there, setting up the drums and making sure everything was in place. She greeted us with a cheerful wave as we walked in.
"Hey, you two," Dani said, her eyes sparkling. "Ready to make some music?"
"Absolutely," Eli replied. "We've got a new project."
As we got to work, the studio filled with the sounds of creativity. Eli and I brainstormed lyrics and melodies while Dani worked on the drum patterns. It felt incredible to work with both of them, especially after the rough night we'd had.
At one point, while Dani was taking a break, she pulled me aside. "Hey, Angeline, are you okay? After everything that happened with Matt and Eli, I just wanted to check in."
I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. "I'm okay. Just really angry at Matt for bringing all that up. It was unnecessary and hurtful. But I'm really happy with how Eli handled it. He was so calm and respectful, even when Matt was being a total ass."
Dani nodded understandingly. "Yeah, Eli's always been like that. He's good at staying calm in bad situations. Honestly, I think you and Eli are perfect for each other. I'm really happy he found someone like you."
Her words warmed my heart. "Thanks, Dani. That means a lot to me. I'm really glad to be with him too."
We returned to the studio, and the process of creating our song continued. The track was coming together beautifully—a slower, heartfelt love song that I was incredibly proud of. Eli and I sang together, our voices blending harmoniously, while Dani's drumming added the perfect rhythm.
By the end of the day, we had a solid draft of our song. The collaboration had been invigorating, and I felt a renewed sense of joy and purpose. As we packed up for the night, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Eli and Dani. They had been there for me when I needed it most, and this song was just another testament to the amazing connection we shared.
As we left the studio, Eli slipped his hand into mine. "You did great today," he said softly, giving me a reassuring squeeze.
"Thanks, Eli," I replied, leaning in to give him a quick kiss. "I couldn't have done it without you."
"Anytime," he said with a smile. "Let's keep making music together."
With that, we walked out of the studio, happy with what we had just done.
