Amethyst Dorothein's POV

chapter 11

I took a deep breath, mustering all the strength I can. "Tulong! Tulong po!" I screamed, my voice echoing in the confined space, each shout feeling more desperate than the last.

Kallias threw his head back and laughed. "Shout all you want, Thein. Walang makakarinig sa 'yo kahit anong gawin mo. We're miles away from anyone who cares."

He started to unbutton his shirt, and my heart pounded even faster. I felt a fresh wave of terror and revulsion wash over me, my mind racing with panic. "Please, Kallias, don't do this. Parang awa mo na " I begged, my voice cracking with fear, tears welling up in my eyes.

Suddenly, the distant sound of police sirens pierces the silence, cutting through the tension. Kallias froze, his expression twisting from amusement to anger in an instant. He buttoned his shirt back up quickly and stormed towards the window, peering out with a scowl.

"How the fuck did they find me?" he muttered angrily, his eyes narrowing as he scans the room. He turned back to me, his eyes blazing with fury. "Ikaw! You called them, didn’t you?"

I shook my head frantically, trying to make him understand, my voice trembling. "I-i didn't! I was tied up all this time remember? A-and now you're accusing me of something I couldn't even do!"

He didn't listen, his anger boiling over into a palpable rage. "Putangina mo! Magsisinungaling ka pa eh 'no? You've ruined my plan!"

Kallias started to pace back and forth, muttering curses under his breath, his movements filled with frustration. The sound of the sirens grew louder and closer. He glanced at me one last time before storming out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

I was left alone, heart racing, trying to process what just happened. How did the police find me? I didn’t call them. . . Maybe someone heard me yelling?

Outside, the sound of car doors slamming and authoritative voices fills the air. I heard Kallias shouting, his voice furious and desperate, a stark contrast to the calm, commanding tones of the police. The house is alive with the sound of a rescue in progress.

"Amethyst! Asan ka?" a familiar voice called from outside the room, the words carrying a lifeline of hope.

"I'm here! Please help me!" I screamed, my voice hoarse from the earlier shouting.

The door bursted open, and Marjorie rushed in, followed by two police officers. They quickly untied the ropes around my wrists and ankles, freeing me from my bindings. I collapsed into Marjorie's arms, tears streaming down my face, a mixture of relief and lingering fear.

"You're safe now, love," she said, holding me tightly, her voice a soothing balm.

The police escorted Kallias out of the house, his hands cuffed behind his back. He glared at me one last time, his eyes filled with hatred, but I was no longer afraid. With Marjorie by my side and the police ensuring my safety, I knew this nightmare is finally over.

As we left the house, I looked around at the isolated location, almost near a forest. It's no wonder Kallias thought no one would find me here. Marjorie helped me into the police car, and we drove away from that terrifying place, the distance between us and the house growing with each passing second.

Back at the station, after giving our statements, Marjorie and I sat in a quiet room. The fluorescent lights cast a harsh glow, but the atmosphere is a strange mix of relief and exhaustion. She's been by my side the entire time, and I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
