How Come Its So Awkward Around You Now??

"Shintaro-kun, maybe they're not home right now," Ayano said as Shintaro knocked once again on the door to the Mekakushi Dan's hideout.
"No, Kido said we could come over, and maybe the reason they're not answering is that something's happened. Besides, I know where they keep the spare key," Shintaro pulled Ayano by the hand as he went around the hideout to the backyard.
"I don't know about this," Ayano replied cautiously.
Shintaro tipped over a flowerpot and found the key.
"See? They showed me this for a reason, you know, Ayano-chan. Relax, ok?" He attempted to soothe the anxious brunette.
Shintaro put the key in the front door's lock, and turned. The door swung open.
"Hello, we're here! Anybody home?" Shintaro called loudly, but the only response he got was sounds coming from upstairs.
"Please,let's just come back later,"Ayano fretted nervously.
"Wait here. I hear something from upstairs," Shintaro said.
"You're not going up alone, what if it's dangerous? I'm coming too," Ayano stubbornly replied.
They went up the stairs to the upstairs.
Shuuya and Tsubomi were locked into a passionate embrace.
"Kido?! Kano?!" Shintaro said with disbelief.
Immediately, Tsubomi and Shuuya broke apart.
"Oh, yeah, umm, we weren't doing anything, we just were making up," Tsubomi said, blushing profusely.
"More like making out," Shintaro said drily."Please continue with what you were doing. Sorry we interrupted."
"Err no!! It's not like that or anything!" Tsubomi exclaimed,mortified.
"Let's go downstairs, the others should be back soon," Shuuya said, as Tsubomi brushed past him coldly on the way downstairs. What was that all about?
