The feeling that Shuuya was lying to her started right after the gang came back from their camping trip. Lately, Shuuya had been avoiding her, and wouldn't meet her eyes when she talked to him. She knew he was hiding something, and she was going to get to the bottom of it.
A few days went by, and that was when Tsubomi decided to take action. She cornered him in his room and asked bluntly,
"What are you hiding from me? Tell me."
He shifted his eyes, and Tsubomi could tell he was using his power, even though he made it look like his eyes weren't turning red.
"I'm not hiding anything from you," he said.
"You're stupid if you think I can't tell if you're using your power," Tsubomi replied stiffly.
"No, it's just.. I..don't think I am worthy enough for you. These past few days have been great, and I really enjoyed spending some time with you, but..." His voice trailed off.
"If you bring something up, you need to finish that thought," she pointed out.
" I'm not responsible. Remember the leeches? And always getting you into trouble when we were kids? That was all my fault," he replied miserably.
"Listen, I don't care how responsible or irresponsible you are. Your mistakes make you who you are. They make you the Shuuya I know, and love," Tsubomi stood on her toes and gave Shuuya a light kiss on the lips.
"Tsubomi-Chan, I ..love you," he pushed her onto his bed and leaned toward her, their faces just centimeters apart. He stroked her face and whispered,
"Someday, will you go out with me?"
