Azurehowl, With A Slight Twist

The First Fight

*Nine years later.*

Ruuza hides in a bush, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The bushes hide her white fur perfectly. Her prey is a bird that is currently pecking at the ground.

It sqwarks, getting ready to take off, and then, Ruuza charges, killing the bird in one strike.

'Wait til Mum, Dad and Lunar sees this!'

She thinks.

She heads back to their den, where her Mother, Kala is resting, and her older brother, Lunar is seemingly staring off into space, as he often does. Unbeknownst to her, he is conversing with her twin brother, Kaitou.

Lunar has witnessed everything that Kaitou has gone through since being kidnapped all those years ago, and is doing his best to raise his little brothers' self-esteem and rid him of the thought that their parents' deaths were his fault. It's a bit of an uphill battle at this point in time.

"Great catch."

Their father, Matt says, Lunar sharing his sentiment, coming out of his conversation, but keeping their connection open.

"Thanks Dad, thanks Lunar, you can eat Mum."

"You can eat first. You did very well."

Kala says, smiling at her daughter. Kaitou, who has been listening in, is just as proud of their sister as Lunar is.

She suffered from memory loss not too long after Kala and Matt adopted them, but every day, Lunar tells her about their birth parents, and tells her about her memories from his point of view.

It's helped a lot, but she still doesn't have full recollection. He hasn't told her about Kaitou yet, but he will soon. He hopes that Kaitous' name will trigger her memories to unblock.

He trains with her every morning, helping her with her fighting techniques using the moves their birth parents taught them.

Later that night, a snarl sounds through the forest, and then a whimper.

"You... you bastard! You killed our friend!"

A trio of Fire wolves stand in front of Chaos, who has the corpse of a fourth Fire wolf at his feet.

"For the last time, where is the white wolf?"

He says with a snarl.

"We don't know."

One of the Fire wolves says.

"But there's a small pack around here with a white pup."

This piece of news is good for Chaos.

"Where are they?"

He demands.

"Do you really think we would tell you?"

One of the other Fire wolves says. Chaos lunges at him and kills him with one bite.

"Farewell."

He says, dropping the corpse at his feet.

"Leader!"

The remaining two Fire wolves say in unison.

"You... you bastard!"

One of the two remaining Fire wolves says, and opens his mouth with a snarl, and fire erupts from his mouth, heading towards Chaos.

Chaos jumps out of the way, causing the fire to hit the tree, which starts a forest fire.

"You idiots! Look what you've done!"

Chaos shouts, before all three wolves run away to escape the fire.
