Cober Strikes

The next morning, beyond the packs' borders, Cober stretches and looks at his companion.

"Everything's ready. We just have to wait now."

"'I brought the Demonic Chains, so we're ready to go."'

Tachira says, a grin on her face.

"Then leave. I can do this on my own."

Cober says, much to Tachiras' shock.

"Don't be a fool Cober. You're underestimating the mission."

She says, trying to get through to her stubborn master.

"Master says go."

Cober says, waving a paw at her. She scoffs before saying,

"You're an idiot, as usual."

Before disappearing in a cloud of smoke, the same way she appeared the previous day.

'Now to take both Terro and Flora.'

Cober thinks, looking at the packs territory, a nasty grin on his face.

Back in the desert, in the Ghost Pups' cave, some of the females are sitting around and talking.

"I'm so excited. Just a few more days and we can finally see Ruuza and Lunar."

Nikku says, joy evident in her body and voice. She can't wait to see her puphood friends again after all this time.

"Now now, that is if Seth doesn't fail."

Another female, this one with a yellow pelt and black markings says. She's an Electric wolf, and her name is Clareis.

"Give him a break Clareis, it's his first time being on his own."

Micaiha says, defending their packmate.

"Not sure if that's a good idea."

Clareis replies, her expression vaguely annoyed.

"I have to agree with her Micaiha. I mean, Seth is only a fourteen year old brat."

Kareny says from her perch.

"Kareny, he's done a lot of good things. You shouldn't talk like that about him."

Nikku says, flattening her ears.

"I'm sure Seth will do fine."

Micaiha says, flicking her ear.

Then, just behind Clareis, Kane appears in a flash of flight, scaring Clareis quite badly. She springs away from him and a sharp yelp leaps from her throat.

"Hello ladies."

He says with a smile.

"HOLY CRAP! Warning next time!"

Clareis snaps at him.

"My apologies Clareis. Micaiha, I need you to pick up Sonoke."

"And, what about Kaitou?"

Micaiha asks. It's not like Kane to only ask her to pick up Sonoke. He usually requests Kaitou as well.

"I wanted to talk to you about that. You don't happen to know where he is right now, do you?"

Kane asks, his ears flattened. He hates having to do this, but he needs to know where Kaitou is, and if Micaiha has picked him up, she'll know.

"How would I know? I haven't seen him for days now."

Micaiha defends herself, also knowing Kanes' reasoning.

"In one of Sonokes' messages, she told me that Kaitou is only around in the evening. For the rest of the day, he's gone."
