I stared at Charlie for a moment, taking it all in. I was the rightful ruler of this place?
"I can't be in charge here! I don't know anything about this place, I've just got here! You're the one who needs to be in charge around here, not me!" I was breathing deeply. I could not and would not be the ruler of this place, not until I get to actually know what this place is.
"Of course, Kira, if that's what you wish," Charlie smiled softly. I thought over everything Charlie had just said, and then thought of Mason and Trevor. One thing didn't click with the story.
"Why did Mason think this was all my fault? I was a baby at the time, I couldn't do anything,"
Charlie looked in the box, confused as I was.
"I don't know that reason. If you desire, you can go talk to them now,"
I nodded my head. They couldn't harm me now, and I wanted this whole story to be wrapped up.
Charlie opened up the door for me and directed me to where Mason and Trevor were. I walked up to the door and opened it.
"I'll leave you alone with them. I'll be in the throne room if you need me." Charlie whispered to me, then disappeared down the long hallway. I took a deep breath and walked in.
Four people in a circle was what I saw. Some were crying, some were hugging, some were completely quiet.
"Hello?" I called out quietly. All their heads swung towards me, and once they realized who I was, their eyes burned with hatred.
"Get out of here!" Mason shouted, walking towards me threateningly. I backed up a couple steps.
"Wait! Please, I'm not going to do anything." I pleaded. "I just want answers,"
"You've already done enough, Kira." That voice. I whipped my head around to see a certain dark haired boy standing in front of Trevor. I gasped.
"M-Mike?" That's when it all clicked. "Y-you are the son of Trevor! You're Mason's brother!" I pieced it all together in my head. The story Charlie was telling me, Trevor's wife got swept away. She must've been pregnant with Mike!
"So you finally figured it out did you?" Mike snarled. He walked up to me, and everyone else retreated. This was a battle between Mike and I.
"I was born in that world," Mike said with ferociousness, "Where my mom told me everything. About the other world, about the portal, about my family. Of course, there was no way to get back. All my mother had was a locket, the only picture that she kept of the queen, of her friend. I knew there must've been a way back. I tried to helped my mother find a way back to our world, but we never succeeded. She left me at home while my mom searched the place where she came out of the portal over and over, and that was your clearing. That spot is where my mother was left after she was swept away from our world. And the only people who could find that clearing were people who were part of that world." He stopped for a minute to catch his breath. Mike was enraged.
"When you came along, I noticed something was different about you. You weren't like the others, and when you took me to the clearing, that's when I realized you were from here. I told my mom, and she knew that you had to be the daughter of Alec and Bridget, the queen and king. She then told me everything else she hadn't already told me. Back when you were first transported to that world, she was good friends with Emily and Will, who were your adoptive parents. Emily and Will were very supportive, trying to help her get through the tough time. But when Bridget came back, she didn't give you directly to Emily and Will, she gave you to my Mom. Bridget and my mom were the best of friends back when she was in your world, and Bridget knew she could trust my mom with you, but she was wrong. Every time she looked at you, it just reminded her of the pain your family put her through. She had to give you away, which led to you ending up being in Emily and Will's arms. My mom told them everything, but they didn't agree. They fought over it, and ended up breaking their friendship. Emily and Will then left Tennessee, away from my mom and me, but they had to keep moving everywhere because of the curse the sorcerer had left on you. But my mom has felt guilty betraying your mom, and she has tried to get you back, but Emily and Will wouldn't let her take you after what she had done."
