It was a chilly October night, sixteen days after Kirana was born. Emily, her mother, was frightened. Now that Kirana was here, there was no way to stop the danger that was coming for her, but Emily convinced herself that she could run from it.
"We have to get away from here, Will. Kirana can't be here when the time comes," Emily choked, tears streaming down her face, "It's not fair! Why should she have to suffer from something that we did?"
Will paced back and forth in front of the window. It was starting to rain hard. A thunderstorm was brewing, for Will saw the quick flash of lightning shoot out towards the earth. The wind was picking up, rattling the windows. Will was scared out of his mind, just like Emily, but he had to keep strong, for her sake and Kirana's.
"But won't it find us if we move?" He was starting to raise his voice, for the wind was deafening. "IT WON'T DO ANY GOOD!" Suddenly, just as fast as the storm started, it stopped. There was now an eerie silence left behind. Emily looked up at Will, her face red and blotchy from crying.
"Then we will keep running until she's safe."Will sat down, devastated. He placed his head in his hands, starting to shake uncontrollably. He didn't want this. He never wanted any of this, but now he knew it was the only way. He looked up, regaining some control. "This is for Kirana's sake." Will walked over to Kirana, and picked her up carefully. She was small for her age, but had large, brown eyes. She wailed for a moment as her father picked her up, but settled down in his warmth. Her tiny hand grabbed hold of his finger, having a tight grasp. Emily walked over to Will, put her hands on his shoulders, and whispered, "One day, Kirana you will understand. For now, I just want you to live a life full of happiness and joy. Just know that even in the darkest times, hope will always shine through. We love you very much. Never forget that."

Hey guys! This is my first book! I will be trying to update as much as I can. Please leave your thoughts in the comments. I haven't edited this, so if you see a mistake, please don't make a huge deal, but just tell me so in the comments. The chapters will be longer than this, this was just the introduction. Thank you!
