It has been a month and a half since the "incident" at the waterfall. Kira still hasn't forgot about it, but she never mentioned it to anyone, thinking people wouldn't believe her. She tried to just leave it in the past, and hang out with Lucy. Summer so far was great. They've been to almost every place in town, going often to ride horses, which was their favorite activity.

"C'mon! Let's go to the waterfall!"

"No!"

"Why not? Last time we had fun,"

Kira shook her head. No way was she giving in.

"Please, Kira? I will buy you a book at the bookstore next time we go,"

Kira sighed and muttered, "Fine," She promised herself she wouldn't cave, but a new free book is too good to pass up.

"Yay! Now take me there," Lucy commanded.

"No, I'm going to follow you this time,"

Lucy laughed, "We'll get lost!"

"Don't worry, it's impossible to get lost. Really," Kira persuaded as Lucy shook her head.

"Don't blame me if we get lost. I never pay attention when we walk."

They started heading into the woods, quieter than usual since Lucy was concentrating. The only sounds being made were the crunching of leaves and distant chirps of birds. Kira wasn't worried at all, knowing they would be fine. She always managed to get to the clearing, even with her eyes closed. Kira was paying attention to the chatter of each bird when Lucy called out, "I did it! We're here! That was a lot easier than I thought,"

Kira smiled, knowing all along they would be fine. Lucy sat underneath a tree to hide from the blistering sun and let out a huge breath.

"It is sooooo hot out. Just give me a minute," Lucy fell onto her back, staring up through the tree branches. Kira joined her, grateful for the tree branches blocking the sun.

"It's so sad. Summer is almost over, and it went by too quickly."

Kira nodded, not saying a word.

"At least I can say that this summer was one of the best. The past couple years, I hung out with other friends, but none were as awesome as you." Lucy smiled at Kira, and Kira smiled back, giving Lucy the same message back.

"Can I tell you something?" Kira asked suddenly, and Lucy nodded.

"When we moved here at the beginning of summer, I thought this place would be as, I don't know, ordinary as all of the other places I've been. Everywhere we moved, I was alone, which was fine by me. I just wanted to find a place where I could be alone, a place where my worries are left behind. Somewhere where no one will find me. I have never found that place, until I moved here. Where we are now, this is the place. I know I belong here, and I apparently found a friend in the process. Believe me when I say that this is the first time I don't want to move again." Kira sat up, revealing her secrets for the first time. Not even her parents knew how she felt.

Lucy sat up as well, and gave Kira a hug. It caught her off guard, but she quickly hugged back. Lucy then jumped up, sprinting to the waterfall.

"Race you there!" She called back to Kira. Kira laughed and ran after her. Lucy always got past the shyness in Kira, making her feel like she could do anything. When Kira got there, Lucy was already wading in the water, far away from the waterfall. She knew Kira had a fear of the waterfall, so she made sure to stay farther away, which Kira was grateful for. She splashed Lucy in the face, making them start a water battle.

"Wait, let's go down the creek and explore. We haven't down that yet, and we only have a week left of summer," Lucy suggested. Kira agreed.

Kira and Lucy walked down the river, trying not to be tripped up by the rocks. They got their shorts a bit wet from the water splashing, but other than that and their legs, they were completely dry. They weren't expecting to get completely wet, until they reached a spot in the creek that was about four feet deep.

Kira looked as Lucy and asked her, "Keep going or turn back?" already knowing the answer. Lucy smiled mischievously, putting Kira's prediction into reality. Lucy started walking first, the water reaching her knees, then her waist. She gasped at first from the cold water, but relaxed as it felt good in the beating hot sun. Kira followed, and they just swam around in the water with the sun shining on them. They were there for a long time, staying away from the worries of school. Kira didn't want to have to worry about it yet, but she knew that she would be okay, as long as Lucy was there, but who knows what will happen? As she listened to the rustle of the trees, the rush of the water, and Lucy laughing, she knew she didn't want this to end.
