Chapter Eleven - Skin
"You sure would like to screw me."
We walked through the sewer, flashlights in hand.
"Back of the line, Red." Dean gently tugged at the end of my ponytail. "You don't have a weapon." He stepped around me, taking the lead leaving me to walk in between him and his brother.
We kept walking, turning corners until Sam walked past me, taking the lead. He paused.
"I think we're close to its lair," Dean said.
"Why do you say that?" Sam asked.
"Because there's another puke-inducing pile next to your face." Dean reached behind him, toward me, and took my arm. "Please stay in the safe zone. You don't have a weapon."
Sam turned, groaning as he came face to face with a sludge covered wall. Down the hall was another pile of clothes and sludge.
"Looks like he's lived here for a while," Dean said.
"Who knows how many murders he's gotten away with," Sam said, turning to face us. "Dean!"
I looked over my shoulder just as the shapeshifter swung his fist and hit Dean, who fell back into the concrete wall. Sam shot at the monster as it ran away.
"Get the son of a bitch," Dean said, holding his shoulder as Sam moved to help him.
Sam ran off after him.
"I hope you're in pain," I told Dean.
"Thanks, baby."
"Call me that again and I will cut your balls off." I walked off.
We followed the shapeshifter through the sewer until he climbed up and out of the man-hole. We ended up in a park, then split up to look for the creature. It was dark out, leaving only the lamp-posts to light the way.

I found Sam standing on the street. Against my will, we waited for Dean together.
"Why did you tell Becky that I was dating your idiotic brother?" I asked.
"Because it's the only thing that makes sense. Why would you go on a trip with two men you hardly know after your best friend dies? It's suspicious," Sam replied.
"It's not like you kidnapped me. I went with you guys willingly."
"Still." Sam shrugged. "Some people might not believe you."
"And they'll believe I'm dating your brother? We hate each other."
Sam gave me a look. "Sure."
We waited in silence after that. I wasn't sure how much longer it was until he showed up.
