Chapter Thirteen - Hook Man
"Holy fuck, he's hot."
"'Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?" Sam reads from the wall. "That's right out of the legend."
"Yeah, that's classic Hook Man," Dean added. "And it's definitely a spirit." He booped my nose, making me swat at his hand as he stepped back and crossed the room.
"Yeah, I've never smelled ozone this strong before," Sam agreed. "Hey, come here," he said, making Dean move back toward us and away from the window. "Does that look familiar to you?"
"The symbol?" I asked. "Yeah, it was some kind of pendant on the Hook Man's hook, I think."

"It's the same symbol," Sam confirmed as we leaned against the car on the side of the road. He had a copy of the papers we'd found in the library in hand, depicting the hook and the symbol carved into it. "Seems like it is the spirit of Jacob Carnes."
I looked over at both brothers, only to see their backs since I lay on my back across the car and they sat on the edge of the hood. "No shit, Sam," I said, the heels of my shoes brushing the top of the tire.
"Alright, well, let's find the dude's grave, salt and burn the bones and put him down," Dean said.
"After execution, Jacob Carnes was laid to rest at Old North Cemetery," Sam said. "In an unmarked grave."
"Fuck that," I said.
Dean stood. "Super."
Sam moved to the passenger door. "Okay, so we know it's Jacob Carnes, but we still don't know where he'll manifest next or why."
Dean leaned over me, chest directly above me as he reached for the parking ticket tucked into the windshield wiper. I reached up, pinching his nipple. "Stop doing that, Witch," he said, moving away from me. "I'll take a wild guess about why. I think your little friend Lori has something to do with this."
