Sunny sighed, a weight coming off his shoulders as he finished speaking. Sunny felt his shoulder get bumped as Hero stomped past.

He opened his eyes again, seeing Aubrey now crying. "I can't believe I ever trusted you!" She shouted in rage before stomping past Sunny, too.

Then, there was only Kel. "Man. Right before school starts, too? My grades are gonna suck this year, man. Heh..." Kel said, trying to make the tension in the room dissipate a little. It didn't really work.

"Sorry, Kel." Sunny mumbled, looking at the floor.

"You said that enough, dude. It's starting to feel a little disingenuous," Kel said as he approached and put a hand on Sunny's shoulder. "I think it's best if you leave Hero alone for a while. Aubrey, too. I don't wanna make things worse for Basil here. He's had it rough for a long time while you were in there."

Kel quickly added, "Not that I think you were exactly living it up in there or anything, but... y'know... he took the fall for when you scratched out those photos. He stayed silent, even after you uh... well, I dunno what the promise was that you broke, but still, you know what I'm saying, right?"

Sunny nodded in reticence. "Alright, then I don't have to go on, then. You get the picture. I have to go catch up to Hero before he leaves without me, ehe... later, man. See you at school..? Maybe..?" Kel ran off in the direction that Hero had stormed.

There were only two people left in the room. Honestly, after all that, Sunny wasn't sure if he qualified as a human. He felt more like a monster, just as before. Regardless, though, it was too late for take-backs, and there was no point in...

Sunny began to cry. There was no point in it, as he was thinking, but he was anyway. Sunny wondered why he was crying again. It hurt when he did, because of that stabbed eye, but he couldn't help it.

He looked at Basil through his tears. He wanted to hug him close. He wanted to feel his hand clasped around Basil's. He wanted things to go back to the way they were. Basil was all he had left now of the old days.

After all, he doubted any of the others would want to talk to him again. Honestly, Basil was so important to Sunny. Once he woke up, he'd have to tell him. He needed to know how great he was... well, maybe after a short conversation about what he was saying last night... saying he'd never let Sunny leave was a little weird, but Sunny was acting weird, too, so he wasn't going to hold it against him too hard.

Sunny decided the conversation could happen after he told Basil about how great he was. That would be ideal.

He didn't quite notice when the crying had stopped, but he was glad it did. He didn't want to look so... gross in front of Basil. People get runny noses when crying, after all.

Sunny sniffed in so he could get rid of the excess, then exhaled once his nose was clear.

He then wiped his face to make sure he wasn't still covered in the disgusting fluid. He was not, thankfully. Sunny sighed and sat on a chair near Basil's bed. Sitting on the bed itself felt a bit too personal for someone he hadn't really seen for four years until three days ago.

Was it three days ago? Sunny didn't actually know how long he was out for. It couldn't be that long if Basil was still out, too.

Sunny tried to recall details of the fight, if he had done anything that'd make Basil pass out for this long... he had shoved Basil over a few times, making him hit his head, but it couldn't have been bad enough to make this happen.

Standing up again, Sunny inspected Basil's face. Bruised and a scab on his lip, he still looked beautiful... that wasn't the point, though. Sunny looked over his head, seeing if there were any bandages or anything covering it. Nothing.

Sunny scratched his head. Why would he have passed out this long, then? Sunny's train of thought was interrupted by Basil stirring, then opening his eyes slowly.

"Basil! You're awake!" Sunny said, a bit louder than he meant to. Basil jolted awake and looked around, then at Sunny. "S-Sorry, I'm just happy to see you... uh..."

This was a lot harder than he thought. "Basil, I'm so glad I met you. You've improved my life by every metric. E-Even when we... y'know... did that, you were trying to help me. I don't deserve your forgiveness or your friendship, but I still hope we can stay friends. I want to be around you. I want to be your friend again."

Sunny sighed with relief. He didn't really think what he said sounded all that useful, or convincing, or even that kind, but he hoped Basil would still like him. As a friend, of course. Maybe more. Sunny had sort of liked Basil from the start, but the years in Headspace made his like into a kind of adoration. He still hadn't admitted it to himself. Of course, Omori made sure Sunny would never ask any questions, including about his sexuality.

Regardless, though, this wasn't about Sunny. He just looked at Basil and waited for his reaction, hopeful that the perfect Basil would forgive him like he was wishing for in his dreams.

Basil looked a bit confused but smiled at Sunny, "Um, that's really nice, and thank you, but... who are you?"
