Sunny awoke to a pair of blue eyes staring at him. "Woah!" Sunny leapt back in shock before recalling that he was sharing a bed with Basil. He sighed with relief before his cheeks were dyed red. He was sharing a bed with Basil. Sunny cleared his throat, "G-Good morning, Basil," he greeted, trying to sound calm.

"Hi, Sunny! I was watching you sleep!" Basil enthusiastically announced.

The boy clearly didn't realize how weird that sounded. "I noticed," Sunny said, awkwardly gritting his teeth and stretching the side of his lip to expose them.

Noticing his expression. Basil sat up in bed. Sunny had to note that he looked incredibly cute. It didn't matter, though. He couldn't do anything about it. "You okay, Sunny?"

"I'm fine. Just uh... hungry," Sunny smiled with a bit of discomfiture, then stood up, stepping off the mattress quickly.

"Oh, okay! Maybe I can help- ow..." Basil tried standing up but fell over onto the couch.

Sunny turned around and looked at Basil, "I think it'd be best you sit down until we eat. Apparently, these painkillers should help with the instability," he explained, holding up a pill bottle.

"Oh, okay!" Basil agreed and moved to a seated position on the couch.

Not being the best cook, Sunny decided to just make a sandwich for Basil. He spread peanut butter and jelly onto two slides of bread, then stuck them together, as god intended.

Of course, Sunny didn't need to eat. Once a day was enough for him. He handed Basil the plate on which the sandwich dwelled and began to move the mattress a bit away from the couch so as to make room for Basil to walk on solid ground.

"Aren't you going to eat, too?" Basil asked as he took a bite from the sandwich. Sunny shook his head and moved to get a glass of milk like he would usually do in the mornings that he was awake and hungry. "Why not?"

"Because I don't get hungry until night time," explained Sunny while opening the fridge. He took out the milk pitcher and poured the milk from the bag into a glass.

Basil believed him wholeheartedly, "Oh, okay!" he happily replied as he ate more of the sandwich he was provided. Sunny drank the glass of milk in one prolonged sip and took a loud, deep breath.

He whistled with relief and put the glass under the tap, rinsing it out, then placed it next to the sink so it could be properly washed when his mother got home.

Sunny went back to the living room and inspected the pill container. "Take 1 every 12 hours," it said. He opened the bottle and took out one, then walked over to Basil.

"Alright, here's your pill." Sunny said, offering Basil the pill, as he had finished his sandwich, "Do you need water?"

Basil shook his head, then opened his mouth, his tongue slightly stuck out. Sunny felt himself get lightheaded with indecent thoughts for a moment before just dropping the pill in Basil's mouth as he was clearly implying.

Quickly, he swallowed the pill down and stuck his tongue out with a cringe due to the taste, which he remarked on in an instant, "Blech! That was gross!"

"Well, it should help you with walking. Means we can try going outside today." Sunny explained with a small smile.

Basil pouted, "Do I have to take it every day?" he asked his friend, upset at the prospect.

"Twice a day," Sunny reported. Basil whined as he heard the unfortunate news.

Crossing his arms, Basil grumpily huffed and looked away. "I'm not gonna take those pills again!"

Sunny rolled his eyes, "Fine, but then I'll have to start going outside without you," he warned. He didn't really want to go outside, but he knew he'd have to on occasion from now on if he was taking care of Basil. He'd prefer not having to go out alone.

This made Basil whine even more, "Noo-ho-hooooo, I don't want to be alone eitherrrr!" The blonde had his arms limp and his head tilted back as he winged.

"Well, you took your pill already, so you might as well follow me outside," Sunny reasoned.

He didn't want to take the pill again, but he already did this time, so Basil decided to go with Sunny. "Okay... where are we going?"

Sunny thought for a moment. Where would they be least likely to see someone they knew? Probably in the middle of a supermarket. He had money from his birthday in his new bank account, anyway. Why not?

He had a debit card anyhow, and he knew that Othermart accepted card since he went there the day before the fight. "I'll get my wallet. We're going to the supermarket."

"Oh? Why? Do we need groceries?" Basil asked cluelessly.

Sunny shook his head, "No, not that, we're just going to get whatever you want. You know, snacks, candy, the like," he explained himself. Basil's eyes lit up, and he practically jumped to his feet.

"Really!? Wow, you're the best, Sunny! I promise I'll share!" Basil excitedly began to walk after Sunny and excitedly explain the kinds of cookies he liked. Sunny already knew most of this, obviously. The stuff Basil was saying was the same as when they were kids. Especially the "honey graham bears" he was gushing about.

Collecting his wallet, him and Basil went to the front door, Basil suffering a minor stumble on the way. They put on their shoes, Basil needing some help staying steady as he bent over to put on his, and headed out the door.

Only a few steps onto the sidewalk, Basil piped up again, "Uh... Sunny... I feel a little... um... unsteady... can I h-hold your hand?" his friend shyly asked.

"Of course," Sunny responded with haste. Honestly, holding Basil's hand would make him feel more steady, too. More mentally than literally, though.

Basil hesitantly took Sunny's hand, and his cheeks flushed pink as he tried to bury his face into his shirt's collar. Sunny elected not to notice this, of course. He was a little busy scanning the streets for signs of his... maybe friends?

Whatever they were, they risked inducing undue stress to his friend. He didn't want the ataxia to worsen.

Hopefully, Basil would be better soon.
